The cleaner's hands should be clean from soap but heavy breathing might spread something. Probably would help if they wore a mask

I think you'll be fine and your house will be immaculate! Where are you going to go while she is there? How long does it take her since it has been 3 months? A few hours to kill- I'd be more worried about that than the housekeeper. Stay safe and enjoy your outing. ;)

Open the windows as soon as you get home. A good draught will carry away any micro-droplets that may have remained in the environment. Enjoy your shiny clean home!

Sharon, I like your attitude! Princess, I live in an apartment, so it only takes her about two hours, shouldn't be much different today, she's very fast. WFN, I've had a housekeeper for 57 years out of self preservation; when I was first married and we had no money, I took in sewing to earn enough money to hire a housekeeper (we were starting a new business and I had to be home to answer the phone). I'nm those days, she would also do the ironing (another task I hated)

It's not that I mind working, I worked for almost 50 years, and I loved my work and was really good at what I did, but I just do not like housework. So, I do what I love and pay someone else to do what I dislike to do.

My husband and I were just talking about hiring a housekeeper for a couple days a week. I feel weird about it because I’m super hands on but it is getting tougher to keep up housework with the littles. We have pretty full schedules even now and I feel like I’m always doing exactly the same thing everyday. My husband has always been helpful in cleaning up but since he’s had to do everything the last few days he said he gets why I’m so tired by early afternoon. He’s more wanting me to have help and I’m just weighing it out. Was it weird when you first had someone come in?

Lol this is too funny. I wonder if this is how everyone talks about me before I clean their home?? 😂😂😂😂🤗🤗🤗🤗 I’ve never met anyone that regretted hiring a cleaner. Just make sure all communication is open, clear and direct!! 👍🏻

I loathe housekeeping. But that doesn't mean I do not do it because the only thing I loathe more is a dirty home. It will be fine..... like you said she will have touched many surfaces but remedy that by being diligent about washing your hands and not touching your face for a few days. Even taking a Clorox wipe across those high touch surfaces after she is done might be a good idea. Stay safe !

I'm thinking about having my housekeeper back as well. She used to clean every 2 weeks or sometimes just once a month depending on my budget. But I don't think I'm ready yet for someone in my house. I am the same as you with housework. I've been keeping up with the kitchen and doing laundry but have to make lists to try to get in some other housework in. Without the lists, I have no problem doing absolutely nothing for days on end.

BK, it wasn't weird because my mom had a housekeeper when we were kids. I do not stay home when my housekeeper is there. I did when she first started, because I wanted to show her how I wanted things done. I know there are services, but I hired an independent person recommended to me by a friend. I like having the same person all the time and getting to know her. Hire someone, it is just the best feeling walking into a clean house and you'll have much more time to spend with your family. Good luck!

Princess, as for what I'll do, at the moment I'm sitting in the parking lot at Jack In the Box eating curly fries and listening to Johnny Cash on the radio, and I've already burned an hour. Next stop, Whataburger for a hamburger, then I'll think about dessert. 😇

Thank you, Shir! That helped. 💞 I will really consider it because there are days where I feel like I’m fighting to keep my head above water. Nightmares about laundry attacking me. Lol.

It would be nice to be able to afford a housekeeper. The niceties allotted to the privileged... must be fantastic.

Tigerlilly3–a house cleaner is not just for the privileged. I had a housekeeper for many years because I worked very hard, long hours of unwanted overtime. I made the choice to set aside some of my earnings to pay for the housekeeper so that as could get out and enjoy life a little instead of cleaning when I was off. I made the choice to spend my money for that instead of going out to eat all the ti,e, buying things I probably didn’t need anyway. Life is about the choices you make a what you might be willing to sacrifice to achieve a goal. Sounds sort of familiar doesn’t it.

Wifey9707. My housekeeper says she is working remotely from home. She emails me instruction as what to do and then I send her her paycheck. Hmm— so,etching doesn’t sound quite right about that. Hehehehehe.
