So the March "up the carb intake" experiment failed lol. A lesson learned. Adjusted my macros back down to 20g for the month of April. The minor uptick in weight is accepted. I did end up going to a bunch of hockey games and movies wherein I ate a lot of popcorn. God I miss (and love) popcorn. But did some grocery shopping and going to get back to cooking my meals again more!

March was a long-ass month and it is nearly (!!!!!) over. Work's been a right mess with a major deployment that has gone unexpectedly sideways. (I work in IT) It's been almost a week that we've been dealing with some lingering fall-out from it and still no end in sight. Blessings and thanks to very patient users who are working with me and my team as best as they can despite their frustrations with their work being disrupted in a major way.

Sorta-kinda failed my first check-in test with my trainer for the endurance test. Turns out hill running on a treadmill is not my thing. I DNF'd that portion of my test so my trainer and I are going to devote some more time to that. I will also have to get off my butt and do it on my own as well; I refuse to backslide on all of the progress I've made in rehab!

Spring seems like it's slowly creepin' on in (temps still dip below 0C here) so that's a relief. Goodbye winter jackets, hello t-shirts and shorts!

Finally hit that plateau on weight loss. I think of it as good news; I've hit a point where I have to be more strategic and focused about it if I want to get past it. A new challenge, but a welcome one nonetheless. It means I'm close to where I want to be. If I want to earn it, I have to work for it.

My trainer's been putting me through my paces; got back to 5x5 135lb DL, which was about 80% of my 1RM before I had my back issues last year. Trainer is pleased because we can now go back to going for heavier 5x3 and eventually trying for my previous 1RM. All the blessings to my amazing chiropractors and my trainer for seeing me through all that cranky stuff.

She and I also talked about my weight loss; she was surprised when I first mentioned it (probably because I never talked about it much), but has been very supportive about my initiative. She's aware I'm doing keto; we bond over our Asian backgrounds and love of rice/noodles and she was curious if I'd actually stopped eating both. Answer's no; I do eat noodles still, rice, not as much.

Me doing my part and her helping me with the rest has been great in terms of keeping me on track to be healthy. Having her support has been a great boost, not only in terms of my approach to physical fitness, but also the mental aspect of it.
