Took off work today, working on the ##@!&!! car. It has an exhaust problem that I have at least accurately diagnosed, have successfully removed the heat shield from the exhaust manifold and found the issue, a break where the first oxygen sensor bolts in. Why in the hell exhausts have to rust up so bad you need to chisel them apart I don't know, but at least being able to see it now with the shield removed I can see the path forward to getting it fixed. Needs replacement of the manifold and first catalytic converter and sensors, doing it myself will save at least $500 in labor so I'll go that route, ordering the parts now. I hate working on cars, but love saving money on repairs that I'm able to do.

Whatever is going on with my sciatic nerve is getting worse instead of better. Mornings are hell. From the time I get out of bed until a few hours later are the worst of it, seems like once I'm up and about the pain gets better gradually. I guess I'll be making a doctor's appointment as much as I'd rather not do that. Stretches and ibuprofen just aren't doing it. I hate not being able to really work out but I'm at least able to do some upper body stuff.

My wife and I enjoyed a really great dinner out last night for her birthday, then after we got home a couple glasses of wine had me feeling pretty good and I went overboard with some indulgences. Oh well, what is done is done. Haven't eaten yet today and will keep it as low cal as possible to make up in part at least. That's it...back to getting the car put back together so it's usable until the parts come in. Enjoy what's left of your Friday!

Being able to successfully diagnos AND repair the CAR...GREAT!!!!! (A couple of years ago, I saved over $1000 by ordering the parts through Toyota dealership and having a local mechanic install them INSTEAD of dealership) (not many mechanics will do that)........ Fact that Car needs repair...as YOU said ##@!&!!.....May God grant you strength and patience as you deal with your sciatic nerve problem...Hope your doctor can help!!! Keep on Keeping on, and thanks for your friendship and encouragement!!! :)

Sorry about your car. As for your injury it could be what I had which was high hamstring tendinopathy. It stiffens up over night and then feels better after you move around a bit. I ended up going through rehab which was stretches and deep massage. Sitting in a car also aggravated mine. Good luck with whatever you have.

Thanks everyone. Soonsoonsoon my wife has a username here but I don't think she's really active on it. But she's doing very well without needing to log everything.

Wishing your wife a happy belated Birthday. I'm sorry to hear about the pain. I hope it doesn't slow you down too much. I have had to slow down some to allow for recovery and busy times doing "Honey Do's". Amazingly, I'm in a habit of eating better these days and still see progress...

Sorry to hear of your back, back pain is the worst, because it affects everything else you do, even every time you move. I hope your doc can get you fixed up soon. LOL, you sound just like my Dad talking about hating to fix your car, but hating even more the expense of having a shop fix it. You are certainly blessed to be able to fix it yourself! Happy Birthday to your wife, & congrats to her on maintaining healthy eating & weight loss. Hope you feel better soon.
