203.8 lbs, showing the weight gain from being on vacation the past week. It's pretty much what I expected from the extra carbs and calories, I enjoyed ice cream and other goodies every day, including all you can eat blue crabs and a crab leg feast another night. But also got a good bit of exercise in too, my wife and I rode our bikes every day, around 60 miles over the course of the week, plus some nice walks on the beach and boardwalk. Not only was it a lot of fun riding the bikes but we got to see some places we'd have otherwise missed. It's also a good workout when you have to pedal against a stiff wind and the last couple days were pretty windy. We discovered some nice places to fish and crab, next year we'll come prepared to do that.

This is the second year we took a week in September to go down and the weather has cooperated beautifully. Fewer people and not overly crowded which was nice, although it was bike week so lots of motorcycles and noise, but that also made it interesting. I've always enjoyed seeing the kites flying along the boardwalk so this year we bought decent kite with 10 foot streamers, then took it out on the beach when we went and "walked" the kite up and down the beach. It takes a lot longer to wind up 500 feet of string with a kite pulling at it than it does to let the line out. :)

Back to "normal" today, will work on flushing out water from the extra carbs and salt and will cut back calories for a couple days to tell my body the "fun" is over. Here's a picture of the sunset over the bay one evening as we had dinner:

Say what!? I hope at least half of that 203 is water! We shall see... BTW, crabs are fat-free, carb-free, and low-cal, so they did not do any harm (now the Old Bay is a different sodium story, but v. necessary). Psst- the mini candy bars are probably killing your diet. Can you switch to berries or melon?

Jim, happy that you and DW had a great vacation. Pretty sunset. Ice cream and other sweet goodies everyday probably had an affect ;). One or 2 wouldn't have made a dent.

Yup, wasn't the crabs that made the gain. It's mostly water but not all of course. Soon, the mini candy bars are definitely a problem, I need to leave them alone!
