Big calorie day yesterday (2000) in a continued effort to convince my body I'm not starving. Big cardio day, too, in order to help counteract the higher calories. Big gym day today (1.5 hours) to sweat out some of the salt (I only had about 8000 mg yesterday, LOL). Sweated like crazy, so that should help.

Doing dead lifts at the gym is helping to shape my legs and rear. I started with no weight (that's still 45 pounds) on a machine called the Hammer Strength. Back in April I could do 6 and felt like I would faint. Now I'm up to two sets of 15. It's really nice to see progress like that. And here's how I know it's working:

My husband went to give me an injection in the rear end the other night (I get this every 3 months) and he just stood there for about a minute. I turned around and said, "What's taking so long?" He shook his head and said, "Sorry, but the geometry of your butt has changed and I'm trying to figure out where to give you this shot now."

What a nice thing to say. Never thought the word geometry would make me smile.

Steady as she goes.

Maud, Kathy: It's a birth control shot in the ass called Depo Provera that I get every 90 days. Hubby has been administering it ever since he became the shot in the ass expert from when we were trying to have children with in vitro 10 years ago and I had to have numerous shots several times a day. Make more sense now?

P.S> To anyone wishing to try the dead lifts, a word of caution! Make sure you get someone at the gym who knows what they are doing to show you the correct form. It's critically important for your health that you get your form right or your could hurt yourself badly. I had a trainer show me how to do it. The starting position is very goofy looking: a deep squat with your butt sticking out about as far as it can while still standing upright! This move is the pure definition of "lift with your legs".

LOL, that geometry comment had me laughing. Thats awesome on the deadlifts! They are a great execrise. Congrats on getting up to 2 x 15 !! Keep at it!
