shirfleur 1's Journal, 30 May 20

Day 86 of self-isolation. Tomorrow I'm going to a wedding. This will be my 5th venture out into the world since early March. This is a young man I've known since he was a boy, and I've seen him overcome serious obstacles in his life and I just can't miss this celebration. The wedding will be outside, in a park, and I've told him I will be attending from a distance, not mixing with any fellow guests, and that I won't be attending the reception. I wish it could be different, but that's the best I can do. Looking forward to a happy/sad day.

Thanks Princess, my friend's mother and I joked about me taking opera glasses. 😊

Glad you can share in the joy, even if it's at a distance. God bless all.

Shirfleur- that's way more classy. Probably why I don't get invited anywhere. hahaha

Princess, you poor thing, I can just picture you, sitting at home, pining away, never invited anywhere. Kinda like Cinderella, sitting on your little stool near the fireplace. 😢

I just love to watch your weight graph keep going down...& slower is better. Celebrate at a distance. You deserve this.

Have a great day and stay safe. Taking care of you is a prior. I’ve only gone out twice a month to dr and I do wash my service dog. My daughter masks up and pays, I go in side door alone zero human contact mask and gloves. This is my unknown day of isolation since b4 this virus began. Autoimmune doesn’t play. Be safe. 💜🌈

I'm glad you can go and watch the ceremony safely. Enjoy the wedding as much as you can under the circumstances.

Oh I hope you have a lovely, fear free day. I know it is hard when there is so much to worry about. I know you will be careful, but just being out for a bit might really be delightful. And, there is less of you going! One of the things I for work is take a little lady to many appointments. She wasn't going anywhere for a long time especially since her hospital and Dr appointments are at or near kirkland hospital where some of the first covid patients in the nation were treated. We are in and out weekly again to Dr and therapy appointments. Everyone is careful adn clean and masked. It feels a little scary for her, but with all the precautions everyone is taking it is a little bit less so. Hope your day is nice!

Update: the wedding was beautiful, in a park with ancient live oaks, branches trailing down to the ground. I sat (I use a walker, which I can also use as a chair) about 12 feet back from everyone. There were people with masks, people without masks, people carrying their masks instead of wearing them, lots of people standing in close groups and hugging and touching each other. The mother of the groom, who is one of my dearest friends, wore a mask, but could not resist standing very close to me after the ceremony. We were outside and there was a breeze, so I'm sure I'm fine, but really, how many people are going to contract this disease now that society is reopening. And that's not even considering the thousands of protesters across the country. It boggles my mind. Stay safe my friends, stay safe. 💛💚💜
