Stopped by the store on the way home from work yesterday to pick up some stuff for my wife and decided to try on some 34 waist jeans. Just a bit snug but they fit with no severe muffin-topping going on. So I bought a pair, while I could wear them now there is incentive to get them fitting really good, I'll hold off wearing them until then. My size in High School when I was in fantastic shape was 33, don't know if I can get back there again. I'll be happy with nice fitting 34's.

Nice non-scale victory. I'm sure you'll be fitting in them nicely in no time. Keep up the good work.

Thanks CatHerder. It's funny - a day or two ago I felt kind of fat since the scale was going up. Now fitting into smaller jeans I feel much thinner, lol. The power of our minds over how we feel and our perceptions! :)

Wow, great job! An issue I have is that I will lose until my fourteens are practically falling off and still never try a new size. I've never been smaller than a 14, maybe I'm afraid lol. Perhaps I should invest in a pair of 12s and work my way into them. Have a good one!

Nice NSV -- smaller size, well-fitting clothes are SO much more rewarding and gratifying than a numeric readout on a scale, don't you think?

As I have been losing, I will shoe horn myself into the smaller size. 1) It feels like a victory when the waist size goes down 2) The squeeze is a reminder to not eat so dang much during the day

Way to go!! Woohoo!! Great feeling I am sure. I was just happy to get into a dress from 10 years ago, can't imagine high school. Nice goal to strive for. :)

Nice job! Don't you love the mindset that gets you to try on that smaller size in the store to begin with! I agree that your perception makes all the difference. I was feeling like I had not been eating well and convinced that I had probably gained a bunch of pounds. I didn't even want to weigh myself, but when I did, it turns out I was all worried over half a pound gain. I am feeling much better about things today.

You gave yourself a short term incentive and are enjoying the prospect of nice fitting 34's. Wonderful! I'm glad you are feeling so good.

Yay...34 is great. If you're not being sliced in half with no muffin in sight that's perfect. One size up from HS? You are golden!

Buy the 33" pair, too. As incentive and a reward. To be able to go to a high school reunion with bragging rights that you haven't changed at all! Nice job on all the working out, Jim.
