I feel like the tortoise from the story "The Tortoise and the Hare"....I'm not fast but slowly and surely I'm getting there. My back (ruptured disk, Feb 15) has limited a lot of my usual shenanagins (downhill skiing, HIIT, etc) but thankfully, I have been able to do some Dr. approved lighter workouts.

I'm so glad to read that you are getting well and are still doing your lighter workouts. I was beginning to wonder if you were alright, in that I hadn't read a post from you in what seemed like a weeks time.

That's good. All you can do is start, and it will help your recovery.

Thank you kp and SW, no worries!! NM, agreed!! I'm able to do a little more each week , but the first week and a half were very difficult, still needing to ice it a couple times a day (right now even).

Great work in spite of the injury! We all know diet is more important than exercise in the end! You prove you still can lose weight even when injured! Take care!

I agree we get fat because of what we eat and not for the exercises we don't do

Hey HCB & Zydone, good catch!! I did lower my personal daily calorie "allowance" until I could start exercising a bit. Thnx Bill...actually could have taken this pound a few days ago, just wanted to make sure I was stabilized as I don't like going backwards (other than Christmas, hohoho). Going to try and do this all the way to goal weight if possible. :-)

Oooo. Feel better soon, Steven! If you need some help with inflammation- and the Nsaids are wreaking havoc on your stomach, try some Bromelain. Natural anti-inflammatory. I'm allergic to a plethora of meds, and this stuff works fantastic without the allergic reactions!

Thnx Annie, I'm taking alleve every 12 hrs, more for the anti-inflammatory benefits than pain reduction...I'll for sure look into Bromelain...thanks for the tip, have a great Sunday!!
