kattay's Journal, 21 Jan 15

40671 steps for the week, 5810 average per day. 30 squats each day. Worked out with small weights 2 times each day with additional reps.

Working at keeping my calories at above 1000, but under 1300. Very tempting to slide under 700 but that didn't serve me well in the past. Plateaus, slow downs, and frustration not helpful. :) Trying to keep the sugar under 50, net carb grams 100 to 110, and add more fiber.

I have lost 110 pounds since being on FS by changing my way of eating (WOE). Before FS I did try a lot of different diet pills, shakes, and other "diets". I would lose quickly, and it seemed, just as quickly gain it back. Imagine the amount of money wasted on those expensive shakes, pills, special foods, etc. Now I just try to do it the right way by eating mostly whole foods, using moderation, and exercising more to keep up muscle mass and to keep skin as tight as possible. I intend to enjoy this journey with its ups and downs. I love this buddy system and support we have on FS. Makes it so much easier to stay focused and inspired.

I have a long way to go. Onward!

pepepica papas, thanks for the input. I never was a binger but I had plenty of bad habits. I wouldn't eat a whole bag of cookies, but could eat 5 to ten without thinking much about the calories. Instead of one slice of pizza, I wasn't happy unless I had at least three. We had pizza nights, KFC nights, and I had too many fast food lunches. Many times fast food breakfasts and eating out for dinner during the week. I love to cook so we had big dinners with plenty of comfort food. We go all out for holidays. A little bit of this and a little bit of that really adds up in calories. Plus, after my big c I wasn't active. I have made my own transformation.

I too in the past have tried all kinds of diets and pills and shakes and starving myself. This time I change my lifestyle. Just trying to eat healthier and exercise every day. This has been the only thing that has worked and continues to work! Keep up the great work! You are an inspiration keep on inspiring all of us!

Thanks CatHerder, lettygaylor, dreamcatcher10, clava, and HCB! Yes, lettygaylor, those tactics do work better than all of those quick fixes that didn't fix anything. I actually enjoy getting my exercises and walking done now. Seems strange that I also enjoy tracking my food and making sure my macros are hitting on mark, or close to mark. Of course, tracking the steps makes me want to keep those numbers up while keeping the calories down. Nice benefit, body sculpting, or as close to body sculpting as I am going to get :).
