Fritzy 22's Journal, 26 Feb 23

The end of week 9 and I was able to meet my 1 pound a week goal. Year to date I've lost 11 pounds which is good for me. When I was younger I lost weight faster but it comes off slower now that I am retired.

I took Bobby for a walk on Tuesday after going out for breakfast with my sister. Didn't do much the rest of the week with the really cold weather, times of great winds (luckily I slept through some of the scariest wind), rain and even snow almost constantly. Finally, yesterday it stopped drizzling rain long enough to put Bobby's coat on him and I bundled up with 2 shirts and a coat and a scarf and walked for about 30-40 minutes. We both needed the walk. More rain likely today, tomorrow and the day after that at least. The snow doesn't last I live at an elevation around 1000-1500 feet.

It's cold and only 5:30am and now I am making coffee. Dog and cats have been fed, even porch kitty, who has spent a little time on the heated pad covered with a blanket I leave out for her.

I am ready for Spring and we are having some good days already. You are so kind to the porch kitty. Bless you.

Thanks Morticia. I'm pretty sure porch kitty belongs to someone who doesn't let her inside and maybe doesn't leave much food outside for her. She never stays here unless she is waiting for a meal. She is never dirty or wet so I think she may have a bed in a garage somewhere. I worry about her because we have mountain lions here

Great job on the loss this week, Fritzy 👏🏼. Does Porch have a collar? I would be strongly tempted to pick her up and bring her inside. I know cats are territorial, but it sounds like your indoor felines are already well acquainted with her through the glass door.

Thanks Bananas but Porch kitty isn't tame. This is the 3rd winter I've been feeding him or her and she waits on the porch steps while I put her food out. She will run down the steps if she thinks I'm making a move towards her. I've always thought she was feral but keep trying to understand why she doesn't spend any time at my house except at meal time. No collar at all. Many people in my neighborhood just let their cats have kittens and never bother with them.

Thanks Daddy! It hasn't stopped raining long enough to take Bobby for a walk. It's very light rain, but never stops. My at was laying on the vent in TBE living room when I turned the heater on for a couple hours. It sure is cold!

You are doing great!

I'm glad you were able to walk! The weather is crazy! Winds, rain and snow here!

Thanks Erika! I've had a couple of not so good days but it helps to only post my weight once a week.

Thanks Diana. No walk today, there hasn't been a break in the rain at all. Even though it's light rain I'd get soaked and Bobby's rain coat is too tight. There is crazy weather everywhere. Blizzard warnings near Tahoe, about 90 miles away. Any snow at my house melts right away. But it is cold! Can't believe you're getting snow where you are.

Thanks Debbie! Thanks Shirl , I'm just staying home.May go to the grocery store Wednesday if there's a break in the rain or whatever is happening. Could be rain, could be hail, wind and even more low snow

1 pound a week. Great job. That is what my physision recommended for me.

It is cold! It goes right through you too!

Thanks Sugarplum - working on a weekly goal keeps me focussed. It's so much harder when I think of the total I need to lose. But now I just worry about what I will weigh every Sunday morning!

Thanks Daddy! I got outside around 8:30 and took Bobby on a walk. It was cold, but he had his coat on and I had a coat and a scarf. Just now I went to put some sticks in the yard waste container and it started raining or something (Sleet?) and it was freezing! Maybe more low snow here.

Fantastic!

Sleet or snow could be fun, or not. Heavy snow warnings for mountains and snow warning for foothills. Stay warm!

Thanks HCB! Thanks Daddy. We got lots of snow from around 11am until 1 or so. It covered everything! The kids next door built a couple snowmen!
