A gain on the scale, what I was expecting consider how far off track I went over the weekend and the struggle to get back in the swing at the beginning of the week. Lesson learned I hope. Happy Friday everyone.

Thanks my friends. Been thinking while driving to work, with me the battle with food is mental first, then physical, maybe it's that way with of a lot of us. I've got to deal better with the mental end of it. For example, if there's access to sweets, they're readily available and I give in to eating them look out, they're addictive and I have such a hard time stopping. Afterwards the physical effects of all the sugars/carbs throws me way off yet I still desire eating more and I battle those urges. It takes a couple days to get my mind and body back on track...this week was a battle and I've had to come down 6 lbs since Tuesday and still show a gain for the week. Last night was a victory of sorts I guess. There was a KitKat bar in the fridge that I didn't know was there. I managed to eat only 1/4 of it, stopped there and didn't struggle with the desire to eat the rest all night.

it is a constant battle, Jim. Sugar is like alcohol or drugs ... and what it does to the various regulators of our body is what you are describing - leads to more and more cravings. Mental and physical. I agree - not eating the entire KitKat was a win. I would've demolished it. Hang in there, friend.

You might have gained a little weight, but with that you also gained knowledge about your diet and what you can and cannot get away with. I totally agree with you about it being mental. Reaching goals is about making the right choices. Making these choices is 100% mental. Your body is amazing and can do almost anything when your mind is right. Losing weight and/or being fit is totally a mental game.

I gained 2.2 lbs this week. I knew it would be bad...especially last weeks stress was ended with me having a drunken Saturday night (empty calories), eating a 1200 cal del-taco burrito the following morning (in addition to my regular meals), not drinking as much water this week and not working out quite as much as I usually do....I've jumped right back on the wagon today.. Filled up my 1/2 gallon water bottle and starting to drink drink drink. My goal is 6lbs by Thanksgiving.....Oh GOD...THANKSGIVING!

That is such a small gain. Nothing to worry about. You are doing great!
