Argghhhh! Zero change in my weight. If I said I wasn't frustrated by it I'd be lying. I guess the easy weight is gone, from here on it's going to be a slower process.

Putting what the scale says aside there are other signs of progress so I will take comfort from them. Clothes fit better, pants are looser, my stamina is better, less back pain and numbness, and from chest through thighs I've lost a total of 3 3/4 inches in the past week. According to an average of online calculators I've lost about 3% body fat. I haven't done weight training so is it possible I'm losing fat/gaining muscle? Seems unlikely to me, any of you guys more knowledgeable than I have any input here? Anyway it is what it is, I'm here for the long haul and determined to do this the right way, no quick fixes. Busy day for me, last day of school here and the place is going nuts. TGIF!!

Progress is measured in ways other than pounds, and you are making some. Good job! Over time, the pounds will continue to come off if you stick to your plan. Don't let the minor setbacks throw you.

Yes sir reee! Your weight will fluctuate wildly during this weight loss journey. This is normal and should not cause you to be alarmed. Your body is probably still trying to figure out what the heck is going it. It had it so easy for so many years while you ate extra food and provided it with all the calories it needed. Now that you have been maintaining a calorie deficit your body is like “what the hell is going on here?” “How am I supposed to deal with this situation?” Maybe your retaining more water, who really knows? But the point is that your body is an amazing machine and makes adjustments based on so many outside factors. Just give it some time and things will continue down the path you want to go. I wouldn’t be surprised if you weigh 3 pounds less tomorrow. Then gain a pound the next day. The scale will be all over the map from day to day and week to week. If you will focus on the monthly snapshot you will see the progress you are looking for. I think you’re doing awesome! Keep it up.

way to be positive though, the slightest change in diet or exercise could help you over that plateau!! you're doing great!

I'm not sure what would cause the change if you aren't doing any weight training, but it still sounds like a good change =)

NO way you'll lose again! I was stalled out for months and now I'm just flying downward again so don't get bummed your body is just making some adjustments;) I needs to reset somethings to make you efficient again. See your body while losing is kinda pre-survival mode I guess you could say. When you lose as much as your bod' will allow it stops, holds and rearranges for better usage. Some time your muscle needs to be broken down to reduce bulk your poster can change etc, etc. It sucks to feel like you haven't got any progress happening but it completely normal When your body has caught up to your life style changes it'll be right back on track. Don't lose hope just stick firm and maybe in a bit push your calories a bit lower and increase your exercise a bit to get things moving again. You also might need to reset your RDI as it goes down with your weight. Your doing Great! Keep hope and lose weight:)

I agree with M.H. You're body needs to adjust to your new weight. Give it a little more time before you start to worry.

Everybody says that about progress being measured other ways than pounds. While that's true, pounds is the most important or we can 'feel good' our way right into a bigger belt size. Weight loss is usually pretty slow and torturous. Something I read a really long time ago talked about how the body will hold onto water when it loses fat. It seeks to be stable and that's how it does it. Then it releases the water. So if you are being honest and weighing and measuring. If you are meeting or exceeding your exercise goals. If you are staying away from processed and fast foods and honoring your body with every bite you put in your mouth, the weight will come off. These small fluctuations can be ignored. So when this happens, take a long hard look at your food diary, add anything maybe you 'forgot' to add, and if you're satisfied you did the absolute best you could, then don't worry. It will come off.
