Fritzy 22's Journal, 10 Nov 19

I committed to myself I would post my weight today. It's been 3 weeks. I didn't post the last 2 Sundays but I knew what my weight was and I worked to try to get back to where I was before the last power outage and various days of bad eating. Yesterday I had a cup of hot chocolate and then nothing but water. Sometimes having liquids only helps me break the snacking habit. I've got until next Sunday to see how close I get to that vacation weight goal which is 5.4 pounds away.

Don't starve yourself before the vacation, because you don't want it to become a frantic refeed.

Shirfleur - I'm getting back on track. The fasting day helped. I'll enjoy my vacation, and I'll be around 10 pounds lower than the last time I was there. I go to the Mendocino coast about 6 times a year. Erika - I hope to just eat on plan this coming week. I often do 1 to 3 day liquid fasts. My challenge is how to grocery shop for just a few days. I'll be gone Sunday and come home Thursday, so don't want to have produce left in the refrigerator. Right now I don't have much in the fridge. The power outages have got me where I don't want to buy too much fresh food at one time or have too much in the freezer.

Good luck with your plan :) What I have seen in my own case is that my weight loss is directly proportioned to the amount of days I don't 'binge eat'. If the 'liquids only days' prevent the 'binge eating' they are helpful.

Adef - I know if I can avoid the binge days it is more of a straight move down or at least no up moves in the weight. But knowing it and doing things right are two different things for me!

Nodding - that fasting day helping - I get it. It's like giving your mouth a time out so that it can recognize the insanity and calm down. Or at least, it is that way for me.

Fritzy, that’s a small gain that you can bounce back from💜💚

Bella - I was going to continue the fast yesterday but got hungry around 1pm so decided to have a little something then, rather than wait until evening when I'd feel starving. Had peanut putter on toasted sprouted grain bread and it filled me up. But yes, for me fasting gets me to stop snacking. Sometimes I wish for the regular or diet Pepsi to make the fasting day easier. But I know a water fast is best. jcmama - I'm working on it. And it was a much bigger gain that I just waited to post. I don't post everyday like DP!

Good for you for posting and moving on! Pretty often I take a day off eating to sort of reset. It helps after a bad day or two to just feel in control again, so I really get what you are saying. You are soon headed off to a beautiful place. Don't let your gain (or rather not as much loss as you wanted) rob you of the joy of your vacation! You are lighter than you were, you have been walking more, and you have the opportunity to again see the stunning ocean! Hang in there, Fritzy! ❤️
