CrashtestDawnie's Journal, 12 Jun 19

So I think I've let go of all my monthly water weight gain.
I've been staying super busy. I have been closing then opening and then closing again. My sleep schedule is off mostly due to falling asleep right after coming home from work. Last night I went and bought 5mg melatonin gummies. I took one to help me fall asleep and then another one at 3am to help me go back to sleep. They worked great. I felt a little groggy this morning at 8am but it's worn off now.
I just did abs today because tomorrow I'm going to get a free training session form a girl I work with (she works freight part time). She is a personal trainer at a specialty gym not too far from me. She says she wants to make sure I'm doing deadlifts right LOL

Workout for today (6/12)
Foam rolled hamstrings and inner thighs.
Elliptical 6 minutes moderate pace, high incline
Stretches
Incline crunches: 4 sets, 25 reps, 1 set of 51 reps
Modified plank: 2 minutes
Alt twist crunch: 2 sets of 60 reps
Supermans: 6 sets of 10 second holds

Monday June 10th workout
Foam roller to loosen up hamstrings
4 sets, 10 reps, #8 dumbbells:
Over head press and Bicep curls
3 sets, 15 reps, #8 dumbbells:
Tricep pulls and Deadlifts (got my form down with the dumbbells!!)
Stretches
Over head press machine: 2 sets, 5 reps, 30#
Chest press machine: 3 sets, 5 reps, 30#

I need to work on cutting back on junk food and eating more protein. I'm barely/ not getting 100 grams. I've been letting all the stress really affect my eating. About 3 weeks ago my mom told me she has leukemia. She's still going for scans and blood work to find out exactly where it is. She will be telling my 3 other sisters today. It will be a relief not to be the only one that knows. I am very afraid for my mom. I just don't know what to do. I guess there is nothing I can do but support her and pray for her.

I am so sorry to hear this about your Mom. I can’t imagine how hard this is for you and especially not being able to talk about it with your sisters yet. I’m sending big huge hugs to you and all the positive energy the universe has for your Mom! Hang in there! She is beautiful and you look just like her! 💕

I’ve been in your shoes! The day in 2016 when I was home all alone, hubby all the way in the US on business, I got that call, my mom had cancer. Well fast forward! She had surgery but required no treatment and is cancer free! An answer to pray!! Amazing survivor! I’ll pray the same for your mom. Don’t conclude anything until you know more. The day I got the call, my thoughts were raging...seeing in bald and in a casket. I’m ashamed how I reacted that day. Would it be different next time if there was another call? Idk! I’d hope so but it’s news we all dread and cannot really prepare for. Stay strong for her, she will need you like she never has before. Love and best wishes and prayers Dawnie ❤️🥰🙏

Your mother is beautiful. No, there is nothing you can do but be there for her. Cancer sucks. I don't know anyone who hasn't been impacted by it. All my prayers are with you.

Thank you guys for your thoughts and prayers. It means a lot to me. I’m still kind of in denial about it all. I’d like to keep it that way. I hate to focus on all the negative. There’s too much of it. I’d drown in it if I’m not careful. I try to face the problems as they come at me. There are lots of treatments and lots of survivors. No need to assume my mom won’t be one too 🙏🏻 I’m just trying to make sure my mom doesn’t go into a deep depression. That is the last thing she needs.

Focusing on getting my training in has been great for my peace of mine. The hammies are doing great! The one at the gym is thinner and works better than mine. I’ll have to order a skinnier version. I’m excited for my free session tomorrow @Fearnonemia is her insta

I’m sorry to hear about your mom, sweetheart. The best thing you can do for her is to do what you’re already doing. Be there for her and support her. And in order to do that to the best of your ability, that means you need to take the best care of your first. Let your mom serve as motivation for yourself. Don’t make my mistake. My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 20 years ago and I helped my mom care for him. I also let it wreck my health with bad food and alcohol choices, from which I have only recently begun to reverse the effects. I’ll keep you all in my prayers. IM me if you ever need to vent 🙂❤️
