Debbie Cousins's Journal, 13 Feb 18

FOR MONDAY, 2/12/18 - What is it they say about "the best laid plans?" I THOUGHT I was just running out to the store to get some avocados and some eggs, and I DID plan ahead by taking a full glass of water with me. What did NOT plan for was being out for over 4-1/2 hours, which included an hour of driving, 2-1/2 hours of grocery shopping and an hour of heavy cleaning! Though I had started my day out well, by the time I got home I was exhausted. After I ate dinner, I was too full and too tired to stay up and try to force down more fiber or water, and I just went on to bed (and slept for 11 hours!). SO, my very first day on the "Daily Accountability Week #1" Challenge was a FAIL in those two areas. Very disappointed with myself.

But, Debbie... did you LEARN anything about yourself? Were you reminded about anything you already KNEW? Then, it was not a (total) FAIL - when we STOP learning... that's the FAIL. You are NOT a failure - your entry shows us that you KNOW what needs to be done... permit us to come along side of you and we'll do it TOGETHER.

Progress is progress no matter how small you may think it is. It's still moving in the right direction and making a conscious effort. You did good on day 1!! Not a fail at all. Today is a new day.

you sound like you had one of those days and that is okay. It does not make YOU a failure, it is a bump in the road and bumps were made to be crawled over. Hang in there!

The only time you fail is when you give up. Be patient and gentle with yourself!

Y'all are right, @From37to184, @angeliaanderson31, @Gingerk65 and @donaldo. If it was someone ELSE in my Challenge group, I certainly would not tell THEM that I was "disappointed" with them. I DO need to be kinder to myself, and focus more on my MANY victories, than my occasional less-than-perfection moments. Thanks for the reminders!

Look at yesterday as a learning experience, not just for you but for all who reads this.
