Woke at 222.6, up 1.8 as the bloat continues. Got lots of snow overnight so I am working from home today. Will use the opportunity to pop a few Lasix and try to flush some water through to get the plumbing in order! Read selected chapters of The Longevity Diet last night and getting my shopping list ready for my first 'fasting mimicking' diet. It's basically veggies, nuts, and olive oil for five days a month. Very doable. Definitely not keto, however, so it looks like I'll be taking a week-long keto break once a month to try this new plan. Don't need to live to be 100 but I want to stay as healthy as I can for as long as I'm here! UPDATE: Slow day working at home. I ate almost 2000 calories but only 18 net carbs. Got down to 222.4 before bed. Will be home for three straight days which will allow me to flush out some more.

Have we addressed the WHY we bloat? Beano?

I think I could live on veggies, nuts and olive oil! Maybe I should look at this diet.

I'm hearing that bloating can be a result of gut biome ...but that's as far as I've gotten. When I was eating beans, I'd ramped up slowly so body produced sufficient enzymes to digest them, and I didn't get bloated. For a while on keto, used tiny amounts of beans as pre-biotic, and to keep body producing those enzymes, but I lost track of that. ---Good luck on fast mimicking diet, DL; can't wait to see how this goes. Trainer I've started consulting is a fan of alternating keto with other approaches that permit smooth return to keto. I'm optimistic!

For only five days a month? Wow, let me know how that affects your metabolism... with about 60 lbs to go (myself) I need to be entertaining a transition WOE and that could fit the bill (per se).
