Draglist's Journal, 05 Jan 18

Woke at 221.4, down 1.2 from yesterday. Denise went shopping this morning and got me loaded up with veggies. I am going to commence the five-day Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD) in accordance with the guidelines in the new book, The Longevity Diet. I will eat 1100 calories today and then 800 calories per day for the next four. With all the veggies, it will not be Keto or even LCHF but is supposed to trigger significant autophagy and scavenging of old proteins in the cells. When I begin to eat normally again in six days (which for me will be keto), there is supposed to be stem cell growth and rebuilding at the cellular level. UPDATE: Fasted until 2 pm before lunch. Moved a lot of water and bulk this morning and got to 220.0 before eating. UPDATE: Day one of the FMD went well. It's killing me to count up the net carbs, but I knew what I was getting into. Ate just over 1100 calories today. Now it's 800 per day through Tuesday. Wednesday is supposed to be a transition day where I stick with veggies, nuts, seeds, and olive oil but I can add calories. On Thursday it will be back to my normal keto WOE. Dropped more water and bulk and weighed in before bed at 217.6.

Hey Draglist. Gosh ... I have been feeling a bit desperate lately and bought the book The Longevity Diet (before reading your post) I just wanted to get the Fast Mimicking Diet plan out of it. Ha! I did think of you when I read about the book, and here you are ... already a day into it. I look forward to your updates.
