March 2020 Recap (average per day): Exercise: 2921 kcal, Food: 1780 kcal, (Fat: 83.41g, Protein: 134.32g, Carbs: 55.57g). On a long term trend (measured by TrendWeight.com, I lost 2.4 net pounds in March. Not happy that my body fat percentage went up 1.2 percent (2.2 pounds). My lean mass went down by 4.5 pounds. I'm not sure I'm buying this as I added alternate day weight lifting and cardio for the last third of the month. I'll have to keep an eye on this. March was interesting. I started out trying to hit a 1500 calorie average per day but did not do well with that, ending up with an average intake of 2157 calories through March 15. I decided then that I would try true alternate day fasting for the remainder of the month. That is, dinner one night, fasting all day the next day, and then fasting overnight until the following day. So, it's a minimum of 36 hours fasting every other day. This worked out great and I found it very easy to do (much easier than trying to eat limited calories every day). For the second half of the month, I averaged 1426 calories per day. So using this method, it will be easy to hit my 1500 average calorie goal. I'll keep trying to maximize protein on my eating days, but I won't have to worry about the other calories I may need to eat to reach my protein goals. And then on the alternate days, I'm simply fasting and will use body fat. Today is a fasting day. Good luck with YOUR April goals!
