No gym 2 days in a row... pretty much snowed in- certainly too much and too scary to drive to PF. Sitting on my ass in one corner of the couch since 5 a.m. and it feels effin AMAZING!! Surprised I don't have a blood clot. Last time I rested this much was when I had strep throat 4 years ago and watched Dallas Buyers Club and laid around... I was in terrible pain but it is one of my fondest memories. 😁 Snow day for the kids today and school cancelled tomorrow, too. They are thrilled. At least I don't have to commute in crap weather and can work in town tomorrow. I took today off work and literally have had the best day I have had in a long time. Spent all day watching Netflix- Glee, The Office, Forensic Files, some Christmas prince love story thing, and now The Grinch. All that's missing is chocolate. I love my life. Snow plows are out. I love hearing snow plows. I know that seems odd but snow plows are one of my favorite sounds in winter. I'm snug as a bug with my Christmas tree lit and my polka dot robe and Christmas throw blanket. Yay for snow! ❄☃❄⛄❄☃❄ And the hubby is safe at home with me, too so I don't have to worry about him driving tonight to work.

All that sounds so amazing. I'm glad you had a snow day - I can almost hear your smile. Cheers to a great day off!

I'm glad you are taking it easy. You need to do that once in awhile. We rarely get snow where I live, but the next town over, where I go grocery shopping and to see my doctors - it snows there quite often. The elevation is another 1000-2000 feet higher than where I am. It was cold last night and will get cold tonight. But if the bird bath isn't frozen in the morning then I know it wasn't THAT cold! I do like cold weather better than hot weather. It's easy to have a heated throw blanket and stay nice a cozy.

Sounds wonderful! When we get snow at our house we just wait for it to melt. It usually happens in Jan./Feb.

On cold, dreary days, we used to all lie down on the floor in front of the fireplace with pillows and throws, reading, playing games or just talking. If someone knocked at the door, we would jump up, throw the pillows and covers into the hall closet, and sit up on the furniture. LOL! Good memories.

Wow, sounds like an opportunity to get is some body weight exercise. Break out the the resistance bands and tubes and go for it. I'm sure Hubby is willing to hold your ankles so you can get in some ab work. Just kidding, enjoy your day!!!

Love everything you described! Reminds me of a snow storm in the mid seventies! GF and I drove around all weekend in a Dodge Powerwagon drinking beer and listening to ZZ Top! Sorry, flashback there for a sec.... Ha! Snow is good! 😇

It's been nice. No gym for me either. The body should be well rested and ready to get sore again soon!

Love this post and am so jealous! We don't get much snow where I live. Last time I got snowed in I wound up with another kid. Lucky it wasn't twins or triplets LOL! Don't worry about the gym - it will be waiting for you when you're ready. I hit it hard yesterday and will do so until Sunday, when mine closes until January 2nd. So my body will get a mandated rest, for sure. And I probably need it anyway.

I couldn’t sit still. Put my truck in 4WD and made it to PF. It was awesome only like 5 other people in the whole place. Please bring back summer ☀️

So glad you could have a safe, cozy, and relaxing time! I love snow days too. We often get a few per year, and as long as everyone is home safe, I could not be happier!

Thanks, friends! It was awesome! Fritzy- I think it would be wonderful to pick and choose when I wanted to see snow. Shirfleur- No fireplace or I'd have been in front of it! 60pack- I was too young to remember the blizzard, but I saw pictures of it. Jheeden- haha. We are done with having babies. I definitely needed the rest. John- I am so glad you were kidding! I was sad for a second there. Mike- no way. I was definitely able to sit still yesterday. I'm about to drag myself there in a minute. Wish I could say I was looking forward to it but I just never miss it like I think I will. Giving myself a pep talk to get going tonight. But I'm doing it... No matter what.

Melissa- reminds me of the Christmas song... And since we've no place to go- Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow. For nearly my whole life- or at least into my early twenties (this is embarrassing- unsure why I'm sharing)- I thought they were homeless and I never understood if you have no place to go- why you'd want it to snow. Then one Christmas I was singing it and it all came together. 💡 😁

Oh goodness, Princess, that is wild! Yes, when we have a comfy home and no where to go, that we feel especially blessed! Isn't it funny how our perceptions of something can get stuck until suddenly we see a different perspective. True in a ton of ways. 😁

I always worry about the homeless people when there are winter storms, or, here in Houston, when we have flooding - the water can come up so quickly.

Sometimes it is good for the muscles to take a day off. You are so dedicated, I'm sure you will get back to it tomorrow. Glad your day was lovely! :)

Sounds lovely. Love The Office - I've lost count of how many times I've watched it.
