Debbie Cousins's Journal, 03 Jul 19

I went to the pool by myself today, just to do laps. Swam 1/2 mile (15 laps). After each 5 laps, I would lie on my float for about 10 minutes. I'm getting a really good tan! (I've always thought fat folks look better when they're tan!) Went 18 calories over my RDI today, but I had plenty of cushion from yesterday and the day before. Still made great choices for the day and didn't stray from my WOE.

I got my first stainless steel tumbler today. Claims to keep cold things cold for 18 hours! Here inside, it is working fine and keeping my ice from melting. When I go to the pool tomorrow it will get its real test. I saved the packaging and receipt just in case.

Tomorrow will be my 4th day in a row of swimming laps! For those of you who are just getting to know me, I used to frequently say, "I hate exercise," and, "I hate to sweat!" Thankfully, exercising in the pool eliminates my sweat objection, and getting to lie on my floatie between sets makes it actually NON-painful. Who knows, maybe someday I'll be saying, "I LOVE to exercise!" Hopefully, my weight will be low enough by the end of pool season that I'll be able to exercise without sweating so much!

Hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th!

Instead of saying “I hate to exercise” or “I love to exercise” how about “I GET to exercise!” Mindset it everything.

Good for you on the laps!! I really need to work on that again. I love to swim, joined a gym with a pool and mostly use the hot tub to stretch.

I've often thought swimming was the way to go but haven't tried it. I'm not even sure that I CAN swim anymore!

I'm not a GOOD swimmer, @tlender. I just REALLY learned to swim and tread water last year! I still don't like water in my face, and can't put my nose underwater - I use a full-face diving mask, and I use flippers to release the strain on my knee replacements. If IIII can swim laps, almost ANYONE can!
