Yeah, it's 90 percent diet unless you're going for a certain physique. Training methods make a huge difference. Also, a good example of cardio vs. weight lifting. Train for your goals.

Amazing how the human genome can respond differently to the environment and external stimuli. That's why I simply love genetics 🧬

Sabrina— so many wonderful and scary things are coming down the line in the world of genetics in the very near future. Fascinating to study.

I think that this is a good example of too much cardio giving you the "skinny fat" look. No abs and a wider waistline on the endurance athlete. Even when these athletes get really lean, they start looking emaciated. It is what is required at the high levels of endurance running, unfortunately. The same way obesity is required for Strong man for the most part.

I bet Otto is sick of Ewald's bull shit and constant comparisons.

Amazing, Please don't be like Otto. 😂 Otto is mad because he doesn't want to admit that he is doing things wrong.😜

And Ewald is flexing, sucking it in and trying to look buff while Otto is not.

The athletes no longer look like this! If the person on the left had done core exercises he would look totally different!

Ha ha DP!

Their posture in the photo accounts for almost all the difference.

LOL DP. I agree.

You're right Charlotte, long distance runners nowadays look worse. Scary thin and frail looking.

Copy and paste the last link. He may be flaring on the front shot but he is relaxed from behind and you can see the obvious difference. Even from the front I can see it. Otto's arms would disappear if he raised him like his brothers. Lol @DP. You're probably right.

Funny thing is there is no difference in the calves. Yet more evidence calves are a bitch to force growth upon unless you get really heavy.

I meant heavy as in obese, Chris lol.

I made a difference in mine with frequency of training and getting a good stretch and then contracting hard at the top. Still have a ways to go but they aren't going to be growing in a deficit.

As I google and look at pictures I see people with a lot of muscles, quite the leg muscles but no arm bulk. They have the body fat of athletes and for women that is between 14 and 20%. There are no skinny fats. Granted not everyone's dream body! Athletes have changed over the years. I do agree that a person who has lost a significant amount of weight would benefit more from weights because they need to replace volume. I believe in use it or you'll lose it. The skinny fat look is from people who do not do core exercises and many don't care.
