Happy Resurrection Sunday, my FS friends! By the time I was a senior in high school, I had celebrated 17 Easters. I knew about the Easter Bunny, and Easter baskets and dyeing eggs - but I had never heard that Easter was about Jesus coming back from the dead!

On that day, in 1972, a Christian singing group came to my high school and played in the gymnasium during lunchtime. For the first time, I learned what Easter was REALLY about -- Jesus coming back to life and proving that He was more than just a man - He was God in the flesh! When He died on the cross, He did it to be the payment for MY sins, and all I had to do was ask Him to come into my heart and save me, and I would spend eternity with Him in Heaven. I asked Jesus to be my Savior that day, walking down the bleachers to the front to have someone lead me in a prayer of salvation.

Luke 24:1-6. "But very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes ... Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!"

If YOU are realizing for the first time what Easter is about, becoming a Christian is as easy as A-B-C.

A – Acknowledge that you are a sinner, and that you can't save yourself. "For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) None of us can be "good" enough to work our way into Heaven. "For there is none righteous, no not one." (Romans 3:10). Heaven is a perfect place, and God cannot allow sin into Heaven. In order to enter, I have to have my sins removed.

B – Believe in Who Jesus was and in what He did. Jesus was God in the flesh, born of the virgin Mary. God became man and dwelt among us so that He could be the payment for our sin. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

C – Confess your sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart. “If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

If you’d like to receive Jesus as your Savior right now, pray a simple prayer like this: “Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that I can’t save myself or be good enough to get into Your perfect Heaven. I believe that Jesus was God in the flesh and that He came to earth, died on the cross and was resurrected from the dead – all to pay the payment for my sins. Right now, I’m asking Jesus to come into my heart and save me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

I know FatSecret is not a pulpit from which to preach the Gospel of Christ; but, I have people here whom I have come to consider friends, and I can’t say I’m a very GOOD friend if I don’t share the free gift of salvation. Friend of mine or not, though, “Whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Jesus is risen! He is risen, indeed!
