LSG417's Journal, 03 Aug 18

Well, I have to brag on my hubby (EddieS68) since he doesn't journal himself. Yesterday when I got home from work, he was on the treadmill (he usually does it in the morning). He told me that it was actually his second time on it, he had gotten interrupted by work the first time. The fact that he didn't let work keep him from finishing his workout was definitely a win. He also varied the speed, even running for a little bit, and using the light hand weights while walking and varying the incline. But this is what I call a NSV for him: he said, "This is actually addicting! It feels good and I feel better." He also told me he wants to start getting up a bit earlier so he can do a longer workout. He will eventually add in more weight lifting, but is trying to build up his stamina and endurance right now. Do you know how long I have waited for this?! I told him yesterday that I am proud of him for sticking with this and taking control of his health. Of course, then he asks me to buy him some more Oreos because he's eating the last two, lol. He has done well with the sweets, so I suppose I can give him his one vice!!

Hey Jo, this IS fantastic! Motivation is internal. When you're ready, you're ready. Let Eddie have his vice. I still drink a little, lol.

@ches, well he likes his drink too, but at least he does Mich ultra mostly, so it is low carb and I think 90 or 95 calories, which is less than my wine, lol! @Joelmel, he is just getting started, this is only his second week, so he's only lost a few pounds. I've lost 33 so far since starting in Jan. Have had a few stalls and had to adjust my calories and macros some, but I'm within 10 pounds of my goal!

Good for him! And good for you for being a good influence and sticking with it. ;) My hubby can't give up all of his junk foods either.
