Woke at 212.4, down 2.6 from yesterday. Entered day 4 of a water (and coffee/supplement) fast. I intended to go until Wednesday at lunch (finishing out the month with five full days of fasting), but my body had other ideas. I started seeing spots in the shower to the point where I hurriedly got out, dried off as best I could, and laid down for a few minutes. I settled down and then got dressed and left for work. To be honest, I was pretty shaky while dressing, but got to my local bus stop. But after a few minutes of standing there, the pavement started to turn into turquoise patterns. I decided it was best to pack it in and work from home.

Had to get on calls all morning, but at 11 am, I ate two tins of sardines and made a bulletproof type coffee with coconut oil, MCT oil, and collagen powder. Powered through several other calls and I'm feeling OK, but definitely doing it in a seated position. It's the standing that got me! So, as Jason Fung says, if you are experiencing issues with fasting, STOP! So I did. Made it approximately 84 hours and lost a ton of water weight as you can see. I plan to fast the rest of the day and see how I feel. But obviously, I won't be stubborn enough to continue if I can't function! Have a great week!

84 hours is good! :) I hit the 'electrolyte supplement' really hard lately. Costing me a fortune ($20 a bottle) but 'so far' (knock on wood), I am not getting the 'shakiness' that others have brought up (there are multiple people reporting this).

Hey Bill! I am amazed you made that far. Well done. When I do really low carb, I get the shakes and light headed. Had this happen last week and I took a potassium pill. Then at night I am taking magnesium and calcium for a sounder sleep ..... but heard we pee out the potassium when we lose a pile of fluid and we will feel weak. I noticed you don't have potassium or magnesium (with calcium) in your arsenal. Have you heard this?

Glad to hear you bounced back.

Yes these I take a ginormous as are the calcium. The potassium is small. LOL! It is good nerve and muscle function. When I did the Protein Power diet umpteen years ago, Dr. Eades said to make sure we took the supplement because of rapid fluid loss. Just a thought. Get shaky like that is scary. I am just proud you fasted for that many days. Proud of you.

I am glad to hear you were feeling OK at 4 pm! And especially that you got out of the shower, then home from the bus stop OK! Tough day, worth investigating preventive measures like adefwebserver's bottle of electrolytes.

Recommendation from an ole rise: don’t take hot showers, hot saunas, or go into steam rooms while fasting. The same thing happens to me sometimes, even when I am not fasting!

Bouillon or bone broth Is likely just as effective but less expensive, just sayin'
