So, kinda fell off the food wagon again. fasting didn't work for my life. (read : me being lazy with no willpower) I recently got some blood test results that require I change things. (now borderline diabetic)

So, my changes are cutting out real sugar as much as humanly possible. (false sugars are still a thing like Sprite zero n whatnot ) Also, I'm looking at carbohydrates. I'm trying to stay around 60 to 80 grams of carbohydrates per work day. Thinking about staying at or under the daily rate the CDC recommends of 225g of carbohydrates per day on the weekends because being too restrictive will make me stop. I know that from years of data from well... this app lol.

So yeah I'm calling it 'kinda keto '. I'm doing this without looking at calories. I will eat what I want but carbs will be persona non Grata. I've seen that without carbohydrates in my food it tends to keep me full longer so...maybe it stops some of the over eating too.

So far I've replaced bread and wraps with green leaf lettuce. I believe some fast food places call this 'animal style' lol Also replaced rice with riced cauliflower. As long as it's flavoured up it does the same thing as rice or couscous. I hope this works. This isn't vanity anymore. It's become a health issue.

below 300 again. eating mostly soups. lazy french onion soup is about 600 calories. I make it using no name onion soup mix by package directions (4cups water simmer 5 mins yadda yadda) and in a big bowl I break up 2 slices of plain old Wonder bread and put 3 slices of the block cheese style cheese that has been pre sliced like cheese slices. when the soup is done I put a little bit of non alcoholic white wine into it and pour the whole pot over the cheese and bread. it's cheap(a buck for 2 of the soup packages 4 bucks for the cheese that does 2 or 3 soups 2 bucks for a loaf of bread and like six bucks for the fake wine that does a few bowls too so like 12 bucks ish for a couple full meals that ain't bad) and it keeps my cravings at bay. I love it. I'm eating cheese everyday and losing weight. I won't complain lol

Yeah so, since my last update I've been pretty serious about this intermittent fasting thing. 20 hours no eating per day. Seems like a lot yeah? Actually not really, or at least not for me. I'm almost never hungry except for mid hour 19 when I'm smelling my food cooking lol. Through the day I'm drinking coke zero. It fills me and satisfies my sweets craving while giving me no calories.

In my 4 hour eating window I eat my dinner and snacks paying absolutely no attention to the calorie counts. A couple times I had pie and ice cream on the same day as chicken fingers. So like massive calories for a single meal. I'm losing weight and I don't feel deprived. I'm thinking this is something I can actually keep up with. I'm literally making a habit of fasting. I recommend trying it if you are having trouble with calorie counting and staying under a number. Now I eat til I'm full at dinner and my scale is still going in the right direction. It ain't for everyone but hell it costs nothing to try and may actually save you money on groceries lol
