I am currently married and 54 yrs old and have a 34 yr old daughter and an 18 yr old step-daughter. 11 yrs ago I lost my first husband (we were married for 27 yrs) he died 3 days before his 51st birthday and 2 weeks before Christmas.He had been sick with vascular disease and diabetes for years and he had also lost his leg to the disease. I was on all kinds of medications for depression, anxiety, high blood pressure (mostly due to all the stress of his illness) It was a terrible shock to me.

I was weighing in at 232 lbs after his death and I went into a terrible depression...after several months of self doubt and feeling sorry for myself I decided I had a daughter to help take care of (she has Cystic Fibrosis) and I needed to be around for her sake.

One day I went to the doctor and asked him which one of these medications make me gain weight (the answer: most all of them!!) I took myself off of all of them except the high blood pressure meds...

I went on what I call my death diet and over a 1 1/2 yr process I lost 78 lbs.

My daughter talked me into dating again (I hadn't dated since I was 18 yrs old) talk about outta practice. Anyway, after months of my daughter coaxing me into dating; I met my current husband online (I was living in Wyoming and him in Texas) (I am a native Texan and had planned on moving back home soon)

So we met, on a trip back home and have been together ever since...Needless to say...My weight has balloned back up to 223 lbs. Ah!! the comforts of sharing your life with someone... (Wouldn't trade that feeling for the world)!!! ANYWAY...here I am back in the saddle again...

Over the last 2 months I have lost about 19 lbs and feel I am doing much better.... looking for friends for support and just someone around my age to talk to....
