My granddaughter and her new husband are driving by to see me before going down to Crystal Beach this evening. Theirs is the wedding I missed two weeks ago. We're going to a nearby restaurant for po'boys, which, of course, I can't eat yet, but I checked the menu, and gumbo looks pretty safe. I never eat gumbo in restaurants, I always just make my own, so this should be interesting. It doesn't really matter though, because the real treat will be seeing them.

@shirfleur 1 No, about a 5 hour drive but my friend lives 3 hours away and meeting up with her then going to Galveston Sunday-Monday.

We had a lovely visit, he's very nice and they're very happy. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the gumbo tasted like real gumbo, quite good.
