erikahollister's Journal, 30 Aug 23

I did some hard yard work yesterday. I went to an annual physical. I was in pretty ragged shape: a UTI, wide-spread poison ivy, and due to the previous two, really poor sleep. My glucose level was a bit high, no doubt due to the body stress. My lipid numbers are not in yet, but I'm watching for them, online. Carry on, my friends!

I get UTI's periodically, a couple of times a year. I've been able to cure them without antibiotics. I take high doses of vitamin C, kyolic garlic and oregano oil. I let my doc prescribe antibiotics, but I didn't need them, because I turned it around on my supplement regime.

Nice drop, and wise self care 🙂 It's remarkable how strong you are and your capacity for hard work. Very admirable.

The yard work is both my retirement PT job and also my physical activity. I get compensated for working out? Anyway, it's good for me on many levels. Gets me out into the sunshine, and helps me sleep better.

Gets your hands in dirt, keeps you engaged with the community, there is everything right with it, and it will support health and joy into your 90s 🙂

Plus, my husband likes to point out that I have planted so many trees, bushes and flowers over the years. They really are beautiful. Recent years, I've been planting natives and turning lawns into meadows. The birds, bugs and butterflies flock to my gardens. And some of the neighbors appreciate the wild beauty of it. I'll try to post a picture.
