Texasgranny6's Journal, 13 Jan 23

It was Friday 13th all day! Went to a funeral this morning. Shopped for groceries on the way home. Hubby's pickup broke down out of town -- broken water hose. Son was not answering his phone. Ate lunch in the pickup while stranded (I ate too many mini rice cakes while sitting there!) Called a friend who called a friend to pick us up. On the way home we stopped to get our car out of the repair shop. Hubby and nephew went to check on the pickup -- hubby forgot to take keys, had to return for keys. Good ending: Got home before the meat I bought was ruined! Car in repair shop cost less than expected! I found time to take my walk this afternoon, 2809 steps, walked further than yesterday. About the pickup? Who knows, maybe it will have to be towed! Maybe they can repair it by the side of the road! Hopefully all will end well, including my WOE.

That’s a day!! Glad you had some good news ( repair costs lower). Funny though you will remember this day for a long time.

Cars are so much trouble. We need to ride bikes I guess, like they do in Europe. I would need a big basket to hold all of my WM purchases

Kenna, life sure would slow down if everyone in Houston began riding bikes!

Good job on still getting in your walking, even with all the calamities that hit you!

Kenna we have a friend who rides her bike to work, about 10 miles, 6 of it along a very busy road, no sidewalks. I recommended another route across country roads, less traffic. Scares me to even think of her riding on that busy road. I can still ride a bike, but my reflexes are so slow that I crash land every time I get off! Hubby bought me training wheels one Christnas -- I need someone to install them!
