mrsmole's Journal, 15 Jun 14

My day long training yesterday went great and I was thrilled to see that they had grilled fish available in the cafeteria for lunch. I had also brought a tupperware of watermelon of my own that I had half of for dessert. The Bolthouse dressing I brought was a life saver since all I saw at the salad bar was Ranch (my favorite, but I steered clear!). The fish was swai which I had never heard of, and you'd think that being such a huge fan of the TV show "Chopped", I would have seen everything by now. It was a mild fish like tilapia.

The two sessions that I taught went very well and several people came up to me and told me how much they enjoyed them.

Got home too late to enjoy the Jacuzzi but I will make up for that today. Logged a little over 1300 yesterday, in alignment with my plan to do 5 days out of 7 at 1000/day. Since I succeeded Monday through Friday with 1000/day, I will plan for another 1300 today and also go to the gym.

If I can keep the constipation at bay, I should be able to see steady progress this coming week. Prunes are on the shopping list.

Mrsmole, sounds like you had a great day! Glad you mentioned bolthouse dressing, I need to stop in a store that carries it for flax seed after the gym, need to get some blue cheese. I hadn't put it on my list. I actually almost always have a case of swai and tilapia in freezer. I buy individually wrapped portions at a restaurant supply, cases are 10-15 pounds. Love it. Swai is really good cooked with a bit of fresh lavender and rosemary.

Great choices! If you can add one serving of Bran Buds to your diet, or a little avocado you will get the natural fiber...good luck!

Swai is a great light fish and reasonably priced also! I have been using fiber gummies and my digestive problems have greatly improved. They can cause gas, so I time taking them accordingly.

I cooked swai on my gas grill for dinner. Handfuls of fresh cut lavender, fennel and lemon balm soaked in water. Sprinkled fish with salt, put on top of herbs on the grill, cooked a few flipped it over for another min. Oh soooo yummy!! Subtle flavors of the smokey herbs infused into the fish.

LOL. Thanks for all the smooth movement wishes everyone! And who knew that I was the one on the planet who didn't know about this Swai fish?!? Well, I'm a believer now! It's one yummy fish. I added some shredded wheat to keep things moving since I was at the store and forgot the prunes. D'oh! Turns out my dogs also love shredded wheat. They stole half my portion, the little twerps! It was just a few pieces, but still. Haha. Silly pups.

Good dogs. Good dogs. Shredded wheat indeed. I call it straw. :)

For a little more fiber, I used bran cereal, which I put in a grinder then bread the chicken, fish or pork and bake it. Season it with Italian seasoning, salt, pepper and paprika. Pretty good and helps keep the meat moist.
