Fritzy 22's Journal, 21 Jun 20

The goal is to lose a pound a week. I stayed exactly the same. But it's better than gaining 1+ pounds a week which has been my history since the pandemic/lock down started. It looked like I had gained when I stepped on the scale yesterday, so I fasted all day just to get back to where I started the week. Next week will be better.

Noticed a big jump in coronavirus cases in my county and neighboring counties. We sat at 42 cases from Aril 28 until the end of May. No new cases, no one in the hospital. Then the reopening started and now we have new cases every day and currently have 75. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it is to me. It shows that the numbers increase as soon as people start going out more. And I've noticed less people wearing masks. Now the governor has made it mandatory to wear masks when out in public.

Staying the same is a win, Fritzy! It is a turn around week! I hope you have a nice week coming up! Enjoy your critters and cook something wonderful and healthy in that beautiful kitchen of yours! ❤️

Thanks Melissa! I may treat this weekly weigh in like I did when I followed Weight Watchers. If I had a Thursday meeting, I felt like I could eat what I wanted (within reason) Thursday after the meeting until Monday. Then I'd get serious and usually not eat all on Thursday evening when I weighed in. I have brussels sprouts, onions and mushrooms to stir fry! I hate this time of the year. The local weather showed 6 of the next 7 days with highs of 100 or more. The only day under 100 is 98. And it's only June!

It is so difficult to focus on eating right with so much going on in the world right now. I agree with Melissa, maintaining is a win. Stay safe. BTY, the birds fly away when I walk outside too, but if I sit quietly, they soon come back. 💛

I,too, am trying for one pound a week. I've been doing good until today and went up a pound. I was upset but then gave myself a good talking to...tomorrow is another day!

I concur... staying healthy and maintaining is the best choice. It sounds like you are doing well Fritzy. Yes a bit disconcerting that opening led to some more cases... but I guess it is how we manage those that will be important. But for those who are vulnerable staying safe will get harder. Hang in there Fritzy

Thanks Shirfleur - I need to really change my mind set. Right now I am 100% in control of everything I eat, everything I buy at the grocery store. I have to stop using the stay at home order as an excuses to buy and eat whatever I want. Love the birds but was really sad to see lots of feathers on the front porch where a neighborhood cat hangs out sometime. The feathers were right below the feeder which is at least 6 or 7 feet high. But those cats can jump. Tweeters - 1 pound a week seems totally possible with just minor changes. Right? Liv - It's difficult seeing more cases when we went for so long with no new cases. But I live in a gated community in a rural area. About 1800 homes and lots of 2nd homes/vacation homes. I think once the reopening started, people started coming to their 2nd homes. And then there was a heat wave and people went to the lake and the rivers. And Memorial Day, Mother's Day. All kinds of things and everyone is sick and tired of staying home. I understand, I feel the same way but am too nervous to get out much. Maine Coon - California started off so well and now we have really high new cases every day. Mostly in Southern California, but still plenty in Northern California where I live. There is a nice hospital about 15 miles away and so far, I don't think they have any covid patients. I doubt they could hold very many
