Fritzy 22's Journal, 23 Jun 20

Had visitors on the deck this morning. There was another mama turkey with another dozen or so chicks that were down below. Cute, but messy. Had to hose off the deck when they left and that scared the buck sleeping under the deck away. We're in the middle of a heat wave - temperatures from 98 to 104 for another 5 days or so.

Had a phone appointment with my doctor. Just on the phone. No face time or zoom or whatever people are doing now. Don't want to worry about makeup or my hair or even my pajamas. Told him I'm fine but not eating the way he tells to me. Explained I don't like to go out to the grocery store so I've been eating out of the pantry. He suggested carrots, potatoes, onions, brussels sprouts as vegetables that last longer and said frozen fruits and vegetables work good too.

I asked him if there were people sick with the coronavirus right now in our local hospital and he said yes, there were some patients with the virus. I asked him if he considered me high risk and he said not really, except that I'm 65. He said overall I'm in good health. I asked about my weight and he said he didn't think it was so bad as to cause a risk. So overall I am glad I talked to him and now I am motivated to eat better. Can't get younger than 65, but I can work on the weight.

Great to see you posting and sounding a bit lighter in spirit Fritzy! Enjoy your wildlife. Are you able to get out and do some walking in the neighborhood? I always enjoy your photos.🌹

Glad you are getting motivated - it is hard when we worry to think about anything except the worry?

We have wild turkeys but they have never been on our deck. How cool is that! Glad you got a chance to talk with your Doctor & get some advice.

Thanks DP and Melissa. It was nice to talk to my doctor and let him know the gallbladder issue seems to have disappeared. I had a prescription I needed to get refilled and was told the doctor okayed it but to set up an appointment for followup. Was surprised to get the appointment so quickly. Melissa I got pictures of 2 of the 3 bucks hanging out at my house today and will post later. John - the wild life is nice, but very messy. Thanks Jcmama and Diana and Liv! Raineybird - the days just keep on going with little change, except the weather. Some days I'm bored, other days I'm fine. I am not walking much at all, especially now that we are in the middle of a heat wave. Abba - I get motivated when I talk to my doctor, he is a good influence on my, never judging and always encouraging. Sherry - it's only 2 steps to get up on to the deck and the turkeys and squirrels know there are bird feeders on the deck. HCB - Right now dozens of little chicks are so cute, but later, when they are full grown it won't be so much fun having to hose down the deck after 50 big turkeys come looking for food.
