mysize10's Journal, 19 Nov 19

I am finding out that I can not share my ups, downs, and progress with friends who choose not to challenge personal change. I don't want to always hear about the aches and pains and "I know I need to do better" from friends who choose not to do better, yet can always suggest that I don't need to be as strict with myself as I am. I'm not perfect, I mess up and own my mess. I have this support site (Fatsecret) and another support source that I will use to share my triumphs and messes. I'm happy with the changes I'm making in my life in order to live a happier and healthier life. I love seeing my body do new and amazing things without aches and pains. I'm listening more to my body and less to the "sugar" cravings. I totally feel the difference when I am sugar-free. I'm celebrating the small victories everyday even if I have to celebrate by myself. Be well, everyone.

Sounds like you are doing fine. I also talk very little about my diet except on here. This is a great place to share

I kind of get what you're saying - I have a friend who first encouraged me IRL to eat differently yet every time I see her 'now' she's all about the confessions ala 'I've been cheating'. I don't know if she wants me to say "oh that's okay .." (and it IS now and then but this has been going on for months) or lecture her (which I'm not good at). So yeah, I come here.

I'm with you! I have a "friend" who, when I am exuberant about how my WOE has made my life better, either doesn't respond or makes a passive-aggressive snarky remark. I don't care!! I used to share my healthy tips with her - she's not in good shape - but that was futile. I love having FS for learning from and sharing with others that also want to be healthy - however they choose to get there!! Have a great day 💖

You may inspire people - I have friends who are now eating better and moving more because of me, and I have friends who inspired me to eat better and move more also.

I share with a few people, who get it, but not everyone. It's hard to be eating out with someone that has just talked about their desire to lose weight then orders something on the menu chock full of calories.

Welcome 😊. can I totally get the friends sharing stuff. They aren't me. They don't know what we go through. I'm alone most of my day. when my hubby died, all I did was eat and watch TV. After not being able to where my cute shorts and dresses because I was so huge, I said I got to fix this. I went to see my primary care doctor and when I weighed in at 191, an alarm went off in my head. I realized I was on my way back to the 236 that I once weighed. I came on this app, taped my cookie jar shut, bought healthy foods and started walking more. today I'm at 165 but my goal is 150 just because. 😊

Basically I do better not talking about weight loss with people I know because their input acts like a polluter to my thoughts, self esteem and resolve. People here are the opposite. For me its better to stay quiet, work on the diet and enjoy if someone sees my progress. This is the place to be :D
