I had the most disappointing workout ever today 😩 Its not that surprising. I haven’t been sleeping. I took melatonin too late last night and felt loopy for hours this morning. I drink water and coffee and even ate Fritos before I started working out :( I should have just gone later in the day. Well anyway I failed the last rep of 3x3 on bench press. Only 65# :( I have been stuck at this weight. So I started playing with bar path today. Bad idea to try to increase weight while doing that. I didn’t hurt myself but definitely bruised my ego and my right arm hurts a lill. I got stuck half way back up and used leg drive and the little bit of extra strength I’ve got in my right arm to hook the right side and then swooped to the side and let the left fall to the cushion. As I did this half a dozen guys pulled it back up 😳😶💀 I laughed it off, unracked, and hopped on another machine 🙃 They were nice about it but I was still embarrassed to be so damn weak 😓 WHY is Push so much harder than Pull???!!!!!
I am not giving up on this no matter how frustrated I am!

I’m gonna keep going 😁 I might go back tonight. Watching everyone’s terrible squat form at the gym today makes me want to practice even more 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Dawnie, my goodness girl, at least you are in there trying! 👏 I look forward to your postings about the gym, especially when I am sitting on my couch watching tv and eating something I'm not supposed to with my dumbbells on the floor waiting for me. You're doing it! 👍❤

Agree with LZenn totally - when I get my 64 year old butt it pf bed early and get to the gym, I am proud for that!

@ LZenn, agreed. @CrashtestDawnie -- You got this, at least you are going to the gym to better yourself. Keep at it! You ROCK!! Some quotes I like to read on days I need a little extra push. Make sure your shoulders are back when attempting the chest press. We have a tendency to use those vs. the chest.

Aww thanks guys ❤️❤️ Always so encouraging which I need on days like these. My set up on the bench is pretty good: hands at shoulder width, lay on traps and lats, arch, glutes tight, and feet firmly planted. My trainer friend showed me how to do it and I was benching 80#. Not sure why I can’t get up there now. I haven’t been doing overhead press or bent over rows as much since I’ve been incorporating other movements. I will increase them again. Maybe it will help.

Also I’m kinda shy so asking someone to spot me is not something I think I’m gonna be able to do any time soon 😅 If my bench wasn’t so embarrassingly low I might feel differently but yea... 65# multiple months in to this game is sad
