Steven Lloyd's Journal, 30 Mar 18

Here's my morning medium intensity elliptical session with a few intervals and a short sprint at the end. Trying to help burn off a shared plate of nachos from last night.

53 minute session; 126 bpm avg heart rate, 163 max heart rate....average heart rate includes three minute warmup and two minute cool down. Min wattage 155, max wattage 320....estimated average at +/- 190.

Did a Two minute Recovery Heart Rate (RHR) test at the end of the session, yielded RHR of 63bpm; 154 bpm @ 50:56 dropped (recovered) in two minutes to 91 bpm at 52:54.

Lots of good reasons to measure RHR, from just measuring for overall cardiovascular health, to regular RHR tests to help track our training for endurance and overall fitness.

Have a great Good Friday and Easter weekend everyone!!

Going to shovel and snow blow out latest spring snow storm...

Happy Easter WBH...yes I've got the Garmin Vivosmart HR+ on the wrist almost all the time, so it was tracking heart rate (120 bpm max) and calories burned, but I didn't track it as a training session, so the calories and steps are just added to my daily totals....I have tracked shovelling before and it is an ok workout, not as good as biking, TRX or elliptical though.

Thnx Helen, I've been doing my own "Orange Theory" since 2006, but hadn't heard of the OT franchise until 3 years ago...great use of time and energy IMHO, lots of benefits besides the calorie afterburn. Hope your Easter and weekend goes well!

Errr, John I confess that I have a "few" gps maps of bike days, ski days, hiking, etc. too...my ski days are tracked in annoyingly minute detail.
