What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
Wasp stings - I got seven yesterday - deliver poisonous venom. But apparently, if you don't have an fatal reaction, you build up valuable immunities. These immunities can protect from other allergens including other venoms. So, maybe this experience will provide protection from future slings and arrows of outrageous fortune! Meanwhile, I'm pretty swollen and woozy, making it a good day to hunker down.

Some people build up immunity, both others will suddenly have a severe allergic reaction when they get stung later. So don't become over confident in the future!! (Ask me how I know!!)

Ditto what Pandasmom said. Same thing with Poison Ivy, the exact opposite reaction can happen as well. I'm around poison ivy all the time. never had a reaction till a few weeks ago. my eye and face swelled up bad. I was baffled, now i'm really careful where i walk/touch.

Erika - so what you're really saying is "What doesn't kill you, does make you stronger?!" Guess that goes for all the junk we consume too, now that we know better. May all the arrows of health, wealth, and protection point your way everyday. It is an R&R kinda day... Glad you are relaxing too.

Glad to see this update, I've been worried about you. Afraid you would have a bad reaction. Thank goodness you are doing okay.

That would be just horrifying foe me. And I'd swell up like a basketball. Hope you get better fast.

So, I am a very curious person. Could you explain to me how that happened? That sounds awful. Aren't wasp stings worse than bee stings?

I was pulling a weed vine that had grown onto the side of the house and up under a shingle and it must have disturbed a nest of yellow jackets. They came at me like a squadron and chased me around the back of the house! Yes, very painful stings, my exclamations were very colorful! One of them got my husband too.

Thank goodness your alright!!! When I get stung "which isn't very often" I use a baking soda paste which helps take the swelling down and eases the pain.

Ouch.....I got stung 5 times once. They like to hit the soft spots. Lips, eye lids etc.
