That is too bad. Here in Canada housing has become a big nightmare issue. I hope you can find something in Oregon.

Thanks Liv! I've made plans for a 4 night trip to Oregon in a few weeks. The real estate agent has forwarded d me information of 4 houses that may work for me including 2 that are new construction. The pet sitter is totally booked but for the time I'll be gone she is available to come by twice a day to feed the cats and give Marco his insulin shot. My sister will keep Bobby - he'll be excited to play with her 2 dogs. Not looking forward to 8-9 hours of driving with my knee but I'll stop a lot.

Thanks StormsGirl! I had been worrying about the new house being built as i have interviewing realtors to list my house. The price of my existing home could be lower than the new house and it would mean using money besides the equity I have. I actually prayed the other night " please Lord, just get me through this". So it may work out tor the best. The homes I will be looking at are lower in price by enough to make a difference. The market in Oregon where I am moving is softening so I may have been paying too much for the other house.

Housing is bad all over. They have now started "pre" advertising homes here.

Thanks Laurie! I think people with 3% or 4% interest rates on their current mortgages don't want to sell their homes and have to pay 8%. Most of the sales that happen here are all cash.

Thanks Diana! The last realtor I'm going to have come over just called me and we'll probably meet this weekend. I remember taking my last trip to Oregon just to pick out everything for the new house, so it's sad about my green cabinets and 2 master suites but I think I'll find something. Just don't want to spend another fire season here. My realtor in Oregon said he was a physical therapist before getting into to real estate. There are orthopedists there so if I have to get knee surgery I could have it done there

Fritzy you have so many moving pieces going on right now. Think it will all work out for the best tho and by this time next year you will be so relaxed…that knee tho. Are you heading toward the replacement?

Thanks Diana and YOH! I am getting the 2nd opinion on my knee later today. Right now I am leaning towards moving and getting knee surgery later especially if I can walk okay. Apparently there is an orthopedic center so shouldn't be a problem if I need surgery but my realtor said it can be hard to get physical therapy,, due to not enough PTs.

Thanks Shir! The person in charge of the development originally is gone and nothing much is happening. It's also a small coastal community so just building a few homes at a time is difficult.
