jmb3450's Journal, 24 Jun 15

I've got one more thing to post about my fitbit Charge HR then I'll shut up about it. I'm not trying to do a fitbit commercial here, just trying to show what I like about it most and give some information about what it does that you wouldn't know unless you had one. Hopefully it's helpful.

I can log my workouts and get information on them separate from the rest of my day by pushing and holding the button on my fitbit to start my workout timer, then pushing and holding again to stop the timer when done. Going to my account dashboard I can then click on the workout and get specific details. The screenshot below is from yesterday afternoon's walk/stair climbing during my lunch break. The 3 heart rate spikes are the times I ran the stairs in the parking garage. The rest of the time was walking the driveway and perimeter of my work facility. Studying the heart graph you can even see if I was walking downhill or uphill. All this gives me the ability to know the intensity of what I'm doing and gauge/plan what I do in future workouts accordingly. For now it shows me that 3 trips up and down the flights gets me close to my max heart rate and I can do short bursts of intense cardio doing that, followed up by lower intensity in between. In addition there's other data given about the workout that I find very helpful. Here's the screen shot below, you may have to click on my journal entry to fully open it:

Wow.... you're a brain. I accidentally found some of this earlier and just closed it out. I'm fine with the days' end results.

Awesome! I wish I could get one, but I can't have anything on my wrists at work

you can actually put it in a pocket or small pouch as well. I have even seen clips for the zip and fitbit on so you can wear it on your shoes. I hate the wristlet when I am doing yoga so I made a small velcro pouch.

My issue is that I want to track my heart rate. My phone actually does a pretty good job of logging my steps, so I keep that in my pocket all the time.

I think I viewed this data on my Fitbit once but I'm just getting into my learning curve. It seems that others are in the same boat. I wound like to share data with my FS friends. My Fitbit name is John10251 for continuity and my email address is jjhnsnjr@gmail.com.
