jmb3450's Journal, 04 Jun 15

I've gotten to the point where my body is more reluctant to give up the fat and I have to work harder, less room for deviation, to make it happen. Which is normal I guess. The biggest problem spots are some remaining pudge around my middle, upper torso and upper arms...at least that's what's I notice most when I stand in the buff in front of a mirror. No really saggy skin yet which I'm very happy about but I may end up with a little when all is said and done, we shall see.

So far this week all I've been able to do is an hourly walk each day for exercise, just too busy and too much going on to get in anything else. But tonight I should be able to do more so looking forward to some harder cardio and maybe some weights. I'd like to hit 203 lbs by Saturday's weigh in, not sure if I can make it but will do my best. Co-workers just came in the office with cake and ice cream to celebrate somebody's birthday but I'm determined to JUST SAY NO TO TEMPTATION! :) Not going to eat it.

You will get to your goal weight Jim, it just takes time. I didn't want to wait so I just exercised really a lot but not everybody has the time for that.

I fear the saggy skin, but I'll wear it like a badge of honor if it means that I took the weight off!

Thumbs up! I agree with HCB, the reward for staying on plan feels better!

You have made excellent progress. I know you will see this through, even if it does get a little tougher in the home stretch. :)

We are in the same boat. I'm looking my best in years but I so badly want to get rid of my budge around my middle. It is a lot better. The closer I get to where I want to be, the easier it seems to fall back. I'm not giving up either!

Like everyone else, I found the last bit the hardest. As we lose the weight we burn fewer calories (reduction in mass). Our bodies get used to our exercise routines so they are not as productive. Keep on plugging and working the system that got you this far. It WILL work, your graph just may not be as linear as you were hoping it would be. Congratulations on all you have accomplished. Finally, I agree with the saggy skin = badge philosophy. Do you realize how few people in this world succeed in significant weight loss? We "excess skin" folks are special, we have done what few others have dared to seriously try and even fewer have been successful.
