I'd mentioned my newest song written for the Weissenborn guitar, and was asked to post a link to it. So here it is. Title is "Winter's Last Snow". I play a modified portion of the Jurassic Park theme song at the beginning because it gives a nice prelude into the song that seems to fit, the rest after that is all original. The guitar is a Gold Tone SM weissenborn, solid mahoghany, has a hollow neck and is played with a metal tone bar. Hope you enjoy it. Click on the journal entry and the link should work. Thanks. Winter's Last Snow

Thanks to all, I appreciate your comments and support. Music is one of the wonderful things about life and a universal language. Yeah, the weissenborn is a beautiful instrument, in spite of my goofs. Love the sound of it. It's amazing to play too because it vibrates and resonates so much, you really feel the music as you play.

I love music myself, and would love to learn how to play but I don't have a rhythmic nine in my body, I am that guy that couldn't dance his way out of a wet paper bag, lol

Rockiesfan I'm with you on the dancing. Total clutz on the dance floor, about all I can do is stumble around and call it slow dancing. But I'l love to be able to do it...my daughter teaches ballroom dance so I should take some lessons from her.

Thanks Success and Br_e_co. Weissenborns have had some relative popularity in recent times but still relatively rare in use compared to "regular" guitars. Truthfully mine is pretty much middle of the road in terms of quality, sounds pretty good but the really nice ones from custom builders have amazing tone and sustain. Look up Thomas Oliver on youtube and check out his videos if you want to see and hear some incredible playing. Ed Gerhard is also a very gifted player.
