Annabelle3117's Journal, 14 Mar 14

Well hello there! You all are the cheese on my macaro...cauliflower. :-) So blessed to be able to start each day with you all! I hope y'all are as excited about Friday as I am. Supposed to see fifty degrees today too, Im a happy girl. Thank you for the compliments on my picture yesterday. I took the pic to cheer me up, but it didnt make me feel anywhere close to as good as your compliments and support did. Ive changed my pic again, but its a little sideways. Ill fix it later lol.

So im not officially weighing in until tomorrow but the scale is kinda stuck for me. Ive decided i am going to change it up a little after crunching some numbers. According to the last seven days on my body media armband my daily average calorie burn is 2650. Ive been shooting for a one thousand cal deficit but it seems ive been a little over ambitious usually ending up with a 12-1400 deficit, so im going to increase my intake and hopefully see a better result on the scale. Eat more to lose, I say.... I must be mad! lol It'll be my little experiement. Im ultimately looking for a two pound per week loss. Of course, I will get what I get, and I wont throw a fit.

I am weighing in tomorrow because tomorrow Im taking a day off. Thats right, I said it! My husband and I are going to have a night without the kids so we are going out to dinner. I dont want any insane restrictions so im taking the day off. Im going to record my intake to an extent, but im giving mysef the full 2650 calories. I also read that having days with high intake is a good reset for the metabolism, so I guess this is another experiment lol. Im feeling sciencey!

Ive also made an appointment to get my hair cut... *gasp*. You see my new years resolution In 2013 was to grow my hair out to donate, its been fifteen months and my hair is officially to my bottom. Am I ready to go shoulder length?? I just dont know. Cut it all off and donate it or just trim it up? lol oh what a hard decision! Im taking votes, weigh in now folks!

So as for today, I am at work now for the next three hours then its the weekend. (Working hard or hardly working? lol) I plan on going to the gym for a good workout when my husband gets home from work then chillin at the homefront for the evening. No plans for dinner so I desperately need to give that some consideration.

Well that will be all for now. Hope everyone is well and have a great day!!

Enjoy dinner and the time to yourself with your husband! I incorporate "cheat" days and find that it seems to help somewhat so long as you can get yourself right back on track the following day. I've been debating chopping my hair off short myself...especially in light of all of my shedding. I've just had some reservation as I have no idea how short hair will look on me. It hasn't been short since I was in the Navy over 15 years ago...

Sounds like you have done your research which is awesome. Knowledge is the power which allows you to be in complete control of your weight and your body composition. (Sticking to the plan is a whole other subject though. LOL) I totally agree with your conclusion. From the research I have done, maintaining a 500 calorie deficit is perfect if you are trying to lose weight and include exercise regularly. Some days more, some days less, like you said. Keep your metabolism guessing!

Enjoy your "dinner date"! My vote is for cutting it off and donating it! I'm a "sucker" for woman with short hair AND it's a wonderful thing to donate your hair to someone that might need it... :) GO FOR IT :)

Sounds like a good time, no kids, going out to dinner. Enjoy it!! I think experimenting with your food and exercise routine is good because you can really see what works and what doesn't and it changes things up a bit and keeps you from getting bored. I am growing my hair out right now too, but I don't think I could let it get as long as yours, I'd always be getting it stuck in things like car doors or I'd sit on it. It might feel good to get it cut and donate it and have a cute, new style. Have fun on your date tomorrow!!

Cut it off...imagine the weight you will lose!!! Seriously...hair does weigh you down...so cut off more. Weigh yourself before and after if you do cut it short. Then you will know how much your hair weighed. Have a wonderful time with your hubby...you deserve it!

Wow! Your hair grows fast! I read something the other day about how it just stops growing after a while so yeah, cut & donate! Love reading your journals - you're so happy and have a great outlook. Have a WUNDERFUL time tonight. And yeah, I've had that happen ... eat more than usual and your body will start burning thru calories faster than a lotto winner thru money.

My logic. Cut the hair, lose the weight you would gain from enjoying your evening out. Go for it.

Have a great night! I agree to cut off enough to at least meet the minimum donation length and enjoy a fresh new hairstyle for your big date night. Sounds like you got the calorie counting and cycling down well, and you're tweaking it slightly here and there but staying within boundaries. That's GREAT! You and I are in a similar boat: my average daily burn with my BMB is 2,685 and I've been averaging about 800 calorie a day deficit. Some days I'm closer to 1,000 or even eat close to or at my burn level. I think it's good to mix it up and not let my body get used to one set point. I'm so jealous of your date night...my hubby and I need to do that way more. Have a great time and enjoy the evening with your hubby.

I think I just found the date night I want my hubby to take me on. There is a new movie "God's NOT dead" that is premiering on March 21st. I want to see that movie! Now I just have to let him know that is what we are doing...What do you say??? therealdave???

GREAT LOSS, Yo!!! I so agree about the occasional high-cal day helping to reset the metabolism. At least that's been my experience, as long as I don't go overboard (which I did last week, ugh!). As far as the armband RDI, I hope it turns out right... you'll have to let us know how that goes. My experience on that has been that the RDI predictors never seem to have it right, but that may be because our metabolism gets *injured* by our dieting. Who knows. Hopefully it works for you!!! And about the hair, I vote for donating as much as you feel comfortable doing. That is FANTASTIC that you're doing that. So many people benefit from the generosity of folks like you. I wish I could, but I just wouldn't look right with hair to my tailbone. LOL!

You go girl!! Brave thoughts on eating and exercising via that band. Will be interested to know the results. I work with techno stuff so doubly interested. Your hair? If you can grow it that quickly, find someone who will pay you for it, get sponsored to have it shaved and donate the lot to a charity of your choice. Get local and internet social media involved and you could raise a fortune for you chosen charity :-)

Have a wonderful evening and I think you should cut as much off as you feel comfortable with; it is a great gift and I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated.
