Draglist's Journal, 20 Jan 14

Weigh in at 216.0 this morning. Not crazy about that, but I'm in my adjustment day anyway, so should get rid of at least half of the weekend's gain by tonight or tomorrow. Ate 1800-1900 per day over the weekend, with fun 'off limits' stuff both days, so this was somewhat to be expected. Will target 600 calories or so today.

Good afternoon Bill! I am giving the low cal day a try. I have mine at 555 as I just wanted more to eat at dinner. LOL! I have it all worked out for the day. I just ate a boiled egg. Did you know, that a serving of pickles had no calories? I have a small jar of Mount Olive Sweet gherkins sugar free and it says no calories for two pickles. I am going to wrap some deli turkey around a couple of these for my afternoon snack. LOL! Yes we are learning! My Tanita jumped up in everything this morning, so this is war. LMAO!

having trouble with working out. Need surgery on my left shoulder for a bone spur and tear, scheduled for jan 31. About all I can do is walk, pilates is out because of all the planks and holds we do, spinning is tough without holding on to the handlebars...so for now will just try and walk when I can and keep up the dieting. Feeling a little depressed

Weekend damage should go away soon. Interesting about the low cal day. Is this something you do one day a week after your indulgence (or just repentance for your indulgence)? I haven't ventured from the 16:8 thing yet.

Bill I was reading up on the 5:2 IF'ing. It says the 2 500-600 calorie days should be non-consecutive. Maybe that is why you were so cold? It does say not to do anything strenuous on these days as well... so weight lifting is out. LOL! Thanks... any other advice you have is welcome.

cratzley... I began with walking slowly on a treadmill. Then worked my way up. This is after 3 back surgeries and a knee replacement. Don't think you've got to keep up with people who have been exercising and have the body of an athlete. Anything you do will be good.

Two good ideas: 1) Dance with the one that brung me and, 2) Keeping in mind weekly average. See, I really do learn something every day!

Hi Bill - I just did my first low cal day yesterday, it was easy and it did the trick. My question is do YOU do it only 1 day a week or do you try and get 2 non- consecutive days in per week? I'm thinking it would be difficult to continually to 2 days per week. Any thoughts? Have your self a wonderful day!

Thank you Bill! ... it means we ladies are doing it right. I have plenty of fat to burn off in the next upcoming months.
