On the long term trend (measured by TrendWeight.com), I lost .2 net pounds in August. My body fat percentage went up .1 percent (.1 pounds). My lean mass went down by .3 pounds. I removed 100 calories per day on average and I burned about the same number of calories per day. I continued weights and HIIT spinning workouts six days a week, but I gave myself extra rest days after weights. Sort of disappointed that I did not gain any long term lean mass. It had gone up .5 pounds, but as I started losing weight after some indulgences, the BIA scale told me it was muscle mass dropping. I ramped up the protein and lowered fat on purpose, but adding weekly 36 hour fasts took the protein average down. My average carbs went from 72 to 81 grams per day (but were actually caused by a few huge cheat meals on special occasions). My average fat intake went from 92 to 79 grams per day. My protein went from 191 to 168 grams per day due to the four fasting days. My estimated alcohol intake (macros multiplied minus total calories went from 219 calories a day to 288. I attribute this to several celebratory meals and my daughter's 10-day visit, where we stayed up talking, drinking, and binge-watching TV. I aimed for 1665 calories per day on average in September and hit 2000. Ended the month at 230.9 pounds, which I haven't seen since August 12, and before that, July 31. Going to continue the same process in October.

Bill, maintaining and especially gaining, lean muscle mass is frickin hard while trying to loss fat weight....the back end trend line is showing progress! 👍👍

Bill, no regular gym time for me also, unless we are travelling... but HIIT sprints (bike or elliptical due to knee issues) has always worked for me on the legs and core with TRX and dumbbell weights being more than adequate resistance to stimulate growth and/or maintain the upper body and core....lots of online examples of both. I guess likely skiing (both cross country and downhill) probably help too ☺
