Day 49
Hi, All! I AM SO HAPPY!! Old friends of the family (my parents' friends before I was born!) say they will come to my party - yeah!! I don't know why I was so elated when they said they would attend - I am not really close to them or anything - maybe it was just the right moment to hear yet another acceptance for the party. Tonight I am going to order the desserts so we can pick them up just before we go to the hall to decorate. I got some chrysanthemums - big ones - for $4 each, and I am going to stick the flamingos into them. Simple and cute and my friend Bridget is very excited about them and she is going to help me. I think someone said she was bringing favors, so I am not even going to bother to worry since it doesn't matter either way.
I got my eyebrows waxed - let me just say, my daughter Val says that eyebrows don't have to match exactly, just be "sisters" - my brows are not even cousins! LOL! They are totally different shapes. Ok, I learned my lesson - don't go back to that woman, make sure I get the original one Kate when I go back!
My class is going well, and I have a nice spot to get lunch near there - I had a salad with chicken and that will be for lunch and dinner. No contra tonight - the new season starts and I think they switch to Fridays and I missed it. Maybe I'll go to yoga in the morning. My daughters are here, but they won't get up til noon so I have the morning to myself!
The girls are at my ex-husband's for dinner - he usually says something to them about me so I hope he didn't and I won't have to hear it from the girls and explain the facts of jerkhood to them. Makes me nervous worrying but I am venting here and just telling you all makes me feel better!
I am grateful that my pets are healthy - if the birds get sick, it's almost impossible to tell whether they have colds or some deadly virus that will kill them. Most who die of illness just basically keel over after two days of sniffles because they just get a little quiet and then croak. You can't tell when they are pale, because they are covered with feathers!
Grateful for being able to get this party going without too much trouble - I have stuck to a good budget and from the quesions people have been asking, I will probably recoup the money in presents! And I don't care if I do or not.
Grateful that the worst problem I have is: college for two healthy girls is expensive and I'll probably have to pay for half of grad school too. One of my friends has an 18-year-old autistic son and she is also diagnosed with MS. She has a great husband but still...
Ok, off to shop! Hope you have a great Saturday and I probably won't be back til Monday!
