Just a suggestion - don't go grocery shopping 3 days before the Daniel fast ends for you and a week before leaving on a 4 night vacation. I can start eating "normal" on Thursday. Went to the grocery store yesterday because of the $5 Monday only specials. The only plant based food I bought was bananas. I like to get my refrigerator empty of perishable product before leaving on vacation. And because I have only been eating plants for almost 3 weeks I started craving all the processed food I saw. I bought bagels, English muffins (for those of you who've watched me awhile you will know I typically eat only 1/4 bagel with light cream cheese and a half of an English muffin), 2 loaves of potato bread (my favorite bread for cinnamon toast which I've been craving and for grilled cheese using only a half slice for each). I bought a huge block of cheddar cheese, something I never do. But it was huge and only $5. I will shred some of it and take a few slices to the coast next week. Not sure what I will do with the rest of it, you really can't freeze cheese. I also bought a box of Grape Nuts which I've been craving for about 2 weeks. Oh, and do you know you can buy Arby's frozen curly fries? There's a bag of them now in my freezer. And I bought a couple other items that I just don't want to admit to here. BUT, I did resist the pop tarts even though they were on sale!

Ha ha... I think I get it. I probably would be the same. Good luck with the last two days. You have rocked it. Yes you can freeze cheese. Freezing will change its texture some but it will still be great for many things.

Depending on the cheese, you CAN freeze it.

You can totally freeze cheese. Cheddar is not the best for it, but just cook with it or melt it on stuff. Plus, if you don't open it, it'll be fine in a week.

I keep all my shredded cheese in the freezer.

The only cheese I haven't been successful with is soft cheeses and sliced cheese that's stacked on each other.

Thanks Liv, DP, Eva, Adameve, Newnormal, Katsolo, Crazycatchick, Newnormal. I don't often have such a big block of cheese. I only tried freezing it once - cheddar. And it was very crumbly. I know when I've frozen leftovers that had cheese in it, it was fine.
