I'm 58 years old, 5'-10" floating between 155-162 lbs, and between 11-14% BF, but not always. About 4 years ago, and in approximately a year and a half, I went from 193 lb to 143-6 lb. I thought I looked great, but many approached me with genuine concerns over my health. Many even asked if I was okay. Since the majority of my friends were so concerned with my health it forced me to look at myself with a new set of eyes. Honestly, I looked gauntly; Subconsciously I couldn't see it because I was so elated with the weight I shed, and gained the confidence to keep it off. The sickly visual affect led me to weight training, all while establishing strength goals along the journey. I'm two things, OCD, and competitive. I even compete with myself. Currently I'm approx 12% BF, and would really like to get it to 10% or lower without affecting my strength or health. I've been seeking this illusive goal for over a year, nearer two. I'm 161.4 lbs, waist 29.5", and I can perform 58 good form push ups, and 33 pull ups. One thing that turns me off is listening to people routinely whine for years about their failures, yet aren't honest enough with themselves to admit that they are doing nothing more than they did before joining FS except aggravating themselves with ebbs and flows of binge eating and calorie restrictions, in an attempt to seek a goal that simply doesn't exist with that type of approach. My contention is, if you can't do it after a few years quit and enjoy some doughnuts, or love yourself enough to get out of the rut. Seek help from those who know the journey. Too many pride themselves on doing it "my way" with dismal results. Only you can do it. BTW Diets don't work! Furthermore, my pics are not for fishing. I've been faithfully married for 36 years. I post pics because I'm proud of my accomplishments, and to encourage others my age (or any age) that with hard work, determination, and a new plan we can all still look good, and be healthy.
