Draglist's Journal, 09 Jan 20

Woke at 226.8, down 1.2 from yesterday. Gained a little back from last night after rehydration and a big calorie load to get my protein in. I'm going to do some math and start dividing the overall calorie count of food by the protein grams so I can pack more protein in for fewer calories. UPDATE: Ate a Quest bar and a Snapple Diet Iced Tea for lunch. Got home at 225.6. Ate an omelet, some bacon, some cheese, and a protein coffee to hit my protein macro for dinner. I will not be able to eat anything tomorrow until late afternoon as I have minor outpatient surgery.

I'm always trying to get more protein from plant based foods. Brussels sprouts have 5.75 protein grams and 73 calories in 6 oz, while 25 raw almonds have 6.3 protein grams and 173 calories. So brussels sprouts have more protein for the calories. Just 2 items in my list of plants!

I've been occasionally using protein powder (a whey powder) that is 30 g protein for 180 calories. Good in a smoothie with strawberries, lowfat yogurt, and skim milk. (I also put a TBSP of flaxseed meal, but it isn't needed).
