Danana's Journal, 30 Nov 19

Today I took a step in the right direction by logging my food and doing both cardio and strength training. I also took an honest look at my food journal. I eat too many snacks and I am eating the wrong type of snack some of the time. I also ate just because I wanted to, rather than only when I was hungry. Tomorrow I will take a few more steps in the right direction and snack wisely, eat only when hungry, and stop eating when no longer hungry, rather than full. With the amount of social events on my calendar in December I am realistic about my goals and will welcome any loss, but will definitely consider staying the same a success. Thanks to everyone who lends support. It really does help. Thanks also, to those who are brave enough to share their struggles. That also helps a lot. I wish everyone well during this holiday season and beyond! Here's to improved health!

I used to be bad about snacking at the end of the day. Started making it a part of my calorie goal so I didn't feel bad if I snacked as it fit into the day's calories. Mine is just from feeling hungry late...if I don't feel hungry, I don't snack. As time passes, I find I'm not snacking late as often. Good for you for being honest and saying what many people are going through too!!! :)

December is a hard busy month! Remember once you have willpower to add in kinky snacks that one a day won’t hurt if it fits your calorie goal. But it’s super hard at first so good job realizing you need better snacks right now. Fresh veggies worked for me and the occasional fruit. Sounds like you are finding where you need to change and that’s a huge step in weight loss!!

Good Job! I rarely try to give advice, but the only advice I give is to Log. *You* will make your *own* decisions when you can see the facts in front of your face :) - - Now I need to look at my own facts and make some changes...

Wow! What great feedback and support. It really helps to know I'm not the only person who does these things. After logging and eating more reasonably yesterday I'm down 2 pounds so I think I was right about sodium making things worse. Adef, so true about the logging. I lose when I log and gain when I don't. Like many people I think I want to delude myself into thinking this can be easy and I can eat however much of whatever I want and still lose weight. Wouldn't that be nice? If that were true I would constantly eat bread and butter, coffee ice cream, and bacon! Thankfully I do love fruits, veggies, and other healthful foods. Thanks to everyone who continues to lift me up through the successes and struggles. I appreciate all of you!

Great point! You've summed up what I love about FS--just the chance to see for yourself what you are doing and be real and present with loving your food. And we are not alone!
