Not going anywhere today, pouring down rain, thunder storms, flooding all around, roads closed, dark as night inside. I'm so glad I live in an area that doesn't flood.

Staying in sounds like a great idea. Safe and dry. Have a cup of coffee and watch it rain.

Hang tight, 🇨🇭. I'm thankful you are not in a flood zone and don't have to go out! Better make some more of your gumbo! 😁 ♥️💖💕

Where are you? We had thunderstorms last night. They are not common where I live. The local news said this is the first time we've had rain in September in 5 years and we had it twice in one week. He said typically we get rain 50% of the time in September but we were in a drought until 2 years ago or so. The storm was amazing! I had the window open and could hear the rain pounding on the roof and the sky kept lighting up. Luckily the dog was under the covers so didn't know what was going on. I don't get much flooding, just parts of the lot that has low points, but I'm at the high point of my street. Sounds like you have a day to stay inside and drink some hot tea or make some soup!

Be careful, lightening does not respect walls or windows. Keep safe.

Cloudy & overcast in North Texas ... expecting rain. Why not. There's a festival this weekend. It gets rained out every year. Farmers should pay the organizers during droughts.

Fritzy, I'm in Houston, about 2 miles due West of the Galleria, just north of I-59. The rain has slacked off some here, but poor Beaumont is taking a beating.

shirfleur 1, how are you holding up? Your part of town took a beating today.
Rain has slacked off here in the last hour. Maybe tomorrow will be better. Are you still under flash flood watch? We are, but I haven't heard about tomorrow.
FullaBella, this has been a rainmaker, but not much wind. It's just dumping water. Are you in the DFW area?

Are you still doing OK? The news report is devastating! ❤️

Thank you all for your concern, I am okay, though many are not. With all the bayou that weave through Houston, it is a city that floods, fortunately, I live on high ground, far from any bayous. 💜💛💚

So glad you are okay. The local news station has been showing all the flooding in your area - it's terrible!

They don't call Houston the concrete jungle for nothin'. Pouring miles of concrete on swampland is just asking for trouble.
shrifleur 1, glad you are alright. :)

I glad you are safe, and feel for the others so badly affected, such as those in Beaumont. I'm about 250 miles south of you, and we hardly got any rain. We dodged another bullet.
