Happy Monday Everyone - 4 colle birds on the 4th day of Christmas. I had a great week and a good weekend. My lessons learned for the week are that I can go to a Christmas party without knowing the menu ahead of time and make good choices and have a great time. I went to a military luncheon of Friday with the E9's and received my formal induction into that group. They served pasta, good bread, Big (no Huge) cookies and there was a lot of beer. I simply kept my portions reasonable like I do at every meal - I ordered Iced tea and had an amazing time. I didn't need to become a drama queen and demand they feed me something else because I have "special" needs or just binge because it was a good excuse to do so. It is my WOE and it worked - My blood sugars were within range at the end of the day and I got to be present in the moment and enjoy the people. Food was not the focus...meeting people was. I am grateful to all of you who have shared your ability to get through times just like this and it worked. I hope you all find time to enjoy the people in your lives and fully participate on your journey.

So, colle birds? Is that a cross between Lassie and a bird? 🐕🐦

Well done. You've got the WOE under control. We are going to a party this evening. Plan to follow your example. Plus, I offered to make a salad. Booze is no longer needed to have a good time. In fact, I have more fun watching the drunks. Four "calling birds," Tahoe.

I love it when I see people who actually GET IT. Diets don’t work— lifestyle change does.

Erquiaga - thanks for the kind words and I hope you have an amazing time at your party. The "Colle" birds are the actual words from the children's tale - I had always understood them to be calling birds but that was added in 1909...I just read about this today. They were also called colly birds.
